The Ashes 2021-22

Last 9 wickets for 42 runs. So much fail. Suspect they were already thinking about boarding the plaje home...

What the hell happened there? I thought for a moment I was looking at a report of one of the earlier games, I expected to see close of day with England on top.

Wonder how mr @Whright is? Rather inconspicuous lately. Can’t say I blame him.
Haha... there is nothing I can say, England royally thrashed, I have no fkn idea what went wrong this Ashes.

England still has a good team, I cant see how they could put up such a shite performance the entire tour.

Australia showed / used a lot of grit. ;)

Congratulations to AUS though.

PS: Congrats on your team for winning their India series.

Looks like the Proteas have found a little gem here, Keegan Petersen.

Do we call this a bad pitch or that only applies to spinning tracks? 40 wickets in not even 3 days..

Won't call it a bad pitch. Bowling was superb. England was 70 odd without losing a wicket. After that they just folded. Maybe it's a different 'type' of pitch to play on, but still bad batting .

Look at the root wicket. Ball shouldn't keep that low on day 3
One ball doing that doesn't make it a bad pitch...all I saw from the rest of the batters were terrible footwork and poor shots.

Dean bats out the day on the that.

Burns can't decide whether to leave or play - does neither really.
Malan's feet nailed to the ground.
Crawley got a good ball but he's trying to drive it through mid-wicket instead of on the off-side.
Stokes mistimed pull.
Root done by the low bounce.
Billings tries to play a one-day shot.
Pope walked past a straight ball.
Woakes wild swing.
Wood and Robinson...can't blame them, they're not scoring 150 runs playing properly, might as well swing.

I thought Dawid Malan was going to be a proper player but he's looked terrible this series. Whenever he's come out to bat, he's just stood there and let the Aussies bowl at him till they get him out. No footwork, no positivity, not trying to get off-strike...so passive.

Actually, I take it back - Cummins and Boland are better bowlers than Bumrah and Shami (mostly being bigger and stronger and getting more bounce without having to pitch too short). 50/50 Elgar bats out the day, Markram's showered and changed in 20 minutes.

Late day 4/day 5.
It was a day and night game. :p
