THE ASHES THREAD - AUS v ENG

Still very much Aussies in front and the English arrogance, me thinks, will probably be their downfall. Loving the game, though. :)

I would not be so sure, the aussies are brittle at the moment if england can post a decent total it can go either way. Going to go to the wire i reckon.

Damn! The match is kinda slow.

Spoke too soon. 4 runs an over to lunch today.

Nicely done to the Poms. 238/1 at tea with Strauss on 98 no.

You mean Cook of course, Strauss was out by then for 110, Cook now 132 n.o. Bad light stopped play at 309/1. Umpires just walked off- apparently set precedent on day 2. There is absolutely no way on the cloudiest day (which it wasn't btw) that the light can be too bad for cricket at 4:38 pm in Brisbane. Play was due to finish at 5pm because the queenslanders don't want daylight saving, so 6pm in Sydney, Melbourne, Hobart meaning that we all ignore the queenslanders' time anyway.:D
I am sitting here at computer (of course) and it is still at 6:20 and even still at 7pm (real time 6pm) good enough to play cricket. These guys are a bunch of wooses. The crowd paid for a day, give them one.

BTW, crowd was down today and one of radio commentators said it may be due to resistance against stuff like the "one zipper policy". If you bag has more than one zipper you have to check it into locker. Who comes up with such draconian 'anti-customer'" rules?
I wonder if the pants zipper counts?

Superb fight back by the Poms. I expected the Aussies to rout them today, but solid batting by England. Heading for an unlikely draw, unless the wheels badly fall off tomorrow.

brilliant comeback by England, I honestly thought there was no way back for them. They batted brilliantly and deserve the draw.

So much for worries over Cook's form. Great stuff from the Poms.

So England are unlikely to make any changes, but Australia on the other hand, their bowling attack needs overhaul.

Me thinks, Johnson will be warming pew along with Doherty. Bollinger in with Hauritz maybe?
