320 km/h top speed? Tuner pushes Audi RS5 Coupé to a whopping 450 kW!

MTM USA has added a third stage to its Audi RS5 tuning offering, pushing peak power to a supercar-rivalling 450 kW.

In addition to this, various suspension and exhaust upgrades are available.

Using the Ingolstadt-based firm's twin-turbo 2,9-litre V6, MTM has fitted a new ECU, a custom turbocharger kit, an uprated intercooler and a fresh air filter. The company has also made revisions to the transmission software.

With these upgrades installed, the RS5’s standard outputs of 331 kW and 600 N.m of torque are increased to 450 kW and 820 N.m. This results in a claimed 0-100 km/h time of 3,1 seconds and a claimed 0-200 km/h time of 10,5 seconds, plus a top speed of 320 km/h.

ABT updates tuning package for the Audi RS5 Coupé and Sportback.

The Audi RS5 Coupé and Sportback have been handed an updated tuning package from ABT Sportsline for 2021. The kit adds power and includes revisions to the suspension as well as a mild visual enhancement.

The twin-turbo 2,9-litre V6 mill gains the German tuning firm's engine control unit, which pushes peak outputs from 331 kW and 600 N.m of torque to 370 kW and 679 N.m. An additional radiator kit and air inlet cover are included, too, in a bid to improve thermal stability.

Both the RS5 Coupé and Sportback have also been handed aerodynamic enhancements. This includes a pair of wheelhouse vents with carbon fins, a glossy carbon-fibre badge for the fenders and a carbon-fibre rear spoiler.

Refreshed Audi RS4 Avant, RS5 twins: prices for South Africa announced

Audi South Africa has announced pricing for the refreshed RS4 Avant and RS5 twins ahead of the official market launch at the start of April 2021.

The RS4 Avant will start at R1 296 000, while the RS5 Coupé will kick off at R1 394 500 and the RS5 Sportback at R1 409 500. The Ingolstadt-based firm’s local arm says pre-deliveries to “select customers” have already commenced.

As a reminder, each of the three Audi Sport performance variants is powered by the company’s unchanged twin-turbo 2,9-litre V6 petrol engine, still delivering 331 kW and 600 N.m to all four corners via an eight-speed automatic transmission (complete with new, larger aluminium shift paddles).

The result is the same for each of the three models: a claimed 0-100 km/h time of 3,9 seconds and a top speed “of up to 280 km/h upon request”. The firm's RS sports suspension ships standard, while a sport differential at the rear axle is listed as optional.
