An A8 is the flagship Audi saloon; akin the BMW 7-Series.
"B8" is just a model code for previous gen A4. The current A4 is the "B9".
The "B6" A4 was the pre/lift "B7" shape A4 i.e. The one with the RS4 sedan.
I thought it's like a body kit and and an interior upgrade for buyers that want something a little more "luxury".
Why not just stick to Audi A4 2012 or 2011 or whatever?
B5: 1994–2001,
B6: 2000–2006,
B7: 2004–2008,
B8: 2008–2015,
B9: 2015–present

Also platforms do overlap, so lets say I have a Audi A4 2015 model. You wouldn't know which Platform it is and thus the need for a Platform Code![]()
