The Audi Thread

Pity! You were in the process of giving me your retort which I was to relay to the thread (without quoting you directly).

You were right though. Total waste of time for you, though I didn't mind being your messenger. :p ;)

No I didnt want to have any part of that thread. It was just pointless and now he is in this thread. It's going to be derailed again.

Hmm. Someone seems to be telling a lie; which one of the two could it be.....

The gearbox is nowhere near as quick as the s-tronic but is adequate. It's one of those cars that will keep surprising you like a mentally unstable Jack Russell. The spare wheel sits on the backseat so only three people can fit comfortably.

Edit: I also found myself reaching for the paddle-shifts.

But three people are hardly comfortable on the back seat of any car.

Did you plan to fit four in there?

In these ever increasingly difficult economic times, when it comes time to replace my 2010 A3 1.8T s-tronic in a couple of years time, what would be a worthy replacement (downgrade) so that I don't feel too bad about said downgrade?

Depends what your idea of "when time comes to replace" it.

Why replace it only to downgrade?

I should have completed the sentence to complete the perspective. The spare wheel sits on the backseat so only three people can fit comfortably in the seating arrangement throughout the vehicle.

Aaah right, that makes a whole lot more sense.

Why on earth would they do that instead of just go run flat or even put the can of foam in the boot?

Not really sure. However, they do place the spare elsewhere in the Sportback. Isn't BMW the only manufacturer with run flats?

Hi Guys, another year, another car. I am looking at buying a 2013 Audi A4 2.0 TDI SE Multitronic with 41000k's on.

Your opinions please (based on real life use if you can)

- Fuel Consumption
- Known Problems (I am reading very mixed reviews on the Multitronic gearbox)
- Overall Happiness with the car
- Resell Value
- Anything else?

PS. There is a Manual also available with pretty much the same specs other than the transmission. Should I be looking at that instead of the Multitronic?
