The Audi Thread

Had two races today on my way back from Pretoria. Cocky buggers thought they could take me on..
Not really worthy cars though, but they asked for it - not me.

:D doesn't beat the sound in person hey. Nice thing about the diesel ones, you actually get to hear the nice sounds without having to drain your bank account by the second

Diesel will never sound as good as petrol mate. Bank account be damned, some things are worth paying for! :D

Lol that's true. Big petrol engines do sound nicer! Sadly I'm a broke laaitjie and will have to make due with diesel until I make it big haha.

Hmmm well Mike, what cars decided to mess with you?

4 of my 5 Audi's have been V6's. And 3 of those Quattro's.
There are some things in life you can't let go of once you've had a taste.

Not just big engines, you could always go boxer... :p

Some dude in a red Opel Monza with big ass mags, pipes that roared while idling blah blah. You know the deal. We were stopped at the base of the hill by the fountain heading onto the R21. He was pumping the accelerator making a hell of a noise while slipping the clutch. I couldn't resist. I could see the surprise on his face in my rear view mirror when I launched at green.
The other dude was in a Honda something or another from Hartees to Pretoria.

Was fun.

What did thrill me was another A5 that travelled with me from Hartees to JHB. I was perving over his car while self acknowledging I had one too :) :)

Ah so one slow loud oke from Brakpan with a tiny peen and one japfan street pro, sounds familiar haha.

Have you seen the newer A5's on the road Mike? What do you think of those? I like the old one myself

I have - and I agree. Older ones look nicer.

Really enjoying driving mine. Handling and power is fantastic. I had learned to drive calm with my A6 and conserved fuel nicely. Back to square 1 now.

:D I'm almost scared to ask... What's her consumption so far?

Averaging around 8.5. Pushes up to 10 if a I play too much. That is with spending a lot of time of the freeway so keeps the average down.
When spending time around town and playing at the stop streets she averages around 12. Not too shabby.

Yeah that's actually not bad at all

Pretty impressive for a big car. I'm averaging 9.3 with a 60/40 highway/town split...

My A6 was a bit heavier around town, but freeway I often saw 7.7 to 7.9. A5 I have only seen that once. But as long as 8 to 8.5 on my daily trips to Hartees I am okay.
A5 is way better around town though. A6 was 360kms from a 70L tank and if I behaved for the entire tank I might see 450kms.

Me, joburg to PTA today. Didn't think the pic i took would come in handy so soon... Read em and weep...

 during heavy Friday traffic from Edenvale to Pretoria. Route along the JHB airport with minimal Highway usage.

Was 5.3 but then I decided to test launch on the last 10% of the way while in town.
