What sound do you have in your A6 dude? Mine had Boze. Curious what yours came with.

Good sound that.

My previous A6 had some arb sound system. When it had aged a bit I took it into Motosonic and had it gutted and replaced with JBL speakers and a nice sub in the boot. Replaced the radio with one of those DVD motorised goodies where a 7" screen pops out. Was awesome.
Then when I got my last A6 I was very surprised to find the Bose (thanks - spelt right this time) system packed the same punch as my previous custom sound. Was very impressed that the stock sound was so good.

The B&O in the A5 doesn't pack the same punch due to a lack of sub woofer I can control, but it is clearer. The bass is till flipping good though.

Speaking of S Mode, this put a smile on my face the other day: I had overtaken and forgot to put the car out of S, then engaged cruise control, a little while later I disabled cruise control with the stalk and the car changed down a gear, ready for actions. It was awesome (it's the small things I tell you ).

How's the gear changes on the S4 Dolby?

Mine is manual ; although I would have taken an S Tronic is possible.

However there seems to be pros and cons. After speaking to the guy at Audi, he says I've limited my risk on a used vehicle because it's under R30,000 for the clutch where as an S Tronic is R100,000+ should something go wrong. I also quite like the control a manual has, as even S Tronic/DSG in manual mode don't offer the same control.

The negative is traffic driving, which I do a fair amount - meaning annoying and more wear and tear. Also not as a quick/consistent most the time as a S Tronic/DSG. I mean my 1st to 2nd gear change isn't great and many times, my pull off isn't the best ... so I see an S Tronic being quicker.

Lastly, heard it is fairly easy to burn these clutches out

Audi wise I don't have Bose or B&O which doesn't effect me as much as I thought it would, as the Audi Symphony is still a decent system.

According to the link it isn't the baby sound at least - but the Symphony III can't add an iPod - so I sold mine off a few days back

On I drive to Durban I mistakenly left the car is S-Mode for over an hour, after overtaking a truck. Couldn't figure out why the car launched like a rocket every time I overtook. S-Mode is really crazy in these cars. Like a totally different engine/gearbox. D-mode is sedate in my A4 2.0T Multitronic. But I can't drive around town in S-Mode - too dangerous and scary.

Actually I lie, looks like stock sound!! Do the Bose speakers have some sort of brand logo?

Well it isn't Bose, nor is it B&O... All it says when I switch on is Audi MMI...

I don't have them either ... but the Symphony radio isn't too bad at all, once tweaked.

I normally hate stock sound but the Symphony at least meets what I need.

Where would it be? When I went through the sound settings there was a sub listed that I was able to adjust.

Feeling post purchase dissonance at the moment... Similiar to what Mike was probably feeling quite soon after getting his A5...

The ride into work was awesome though, 27km trip at an average of 8.1l/100km! Didn't hammer it though. Drove very conservatively while I get to grips with this machine...

There some incredibly annoying rattles coming from the dash and MMI console. I'm hoping Sarel at TorqueTuning will be able to sort these out for me!! Nothing cheapens the ride like a rattle!!! And now that I don't have Bose sound to drown out those rattles....

Of all the extras available the previous owner chose the most pointless one, a sunroof!!

Everything else seems to be stock!! Sound, no electric seats, no nav, no ami, no car phone, no tv... I'm not so happy at the mo... Was too quick to buy, should have shopped around more!!

Condition and mileage of the car seems solid though so that's a plus..

Think I must convince my wife to take this...

In the boot, check in the left and right compartment. Think it's right but cannot remember.

I sold my 2011 A4 1.8 T to my son last weekend, so I'm upgrading to a Q5 soon
