The Audi Thread

Going to the car wash and to get wheels balanced. Can't wait. Like a kid at Christmas. :o

Edit: Wifey asked me to go get my daughter at school. Bonus.

Just had a look at A5 pricing and compared to my '09 (facelift) A6. As the car was released in '10, I couldn't get an exact comparison but it's interesting to note that the equivalent A5 Sportback with more or less the same mileage but one year newer is R40k more (20% more):wtf:. Surprised me.... I don't really see much difference between the two other than the shape of the car and the A6 being the bigger one of the two. I would have expected the A6 to be more expenisve:confused:

I discovered the same. Makes the A6 extremely good value for money IMO.

A5 is a more sporty looking car, with more demand. A6 is a great car, but it depreciates quicker due to higher base price and the demand being lower as it is simply a big comfy sedan compared to the sporty, low and wide A5

I'd say one has to compare the same year models. The '04 A6 we had wasn't sporty at all... The '09 is a lot sportier

Damn decent deal it seems.

Stay away. Far away. That would not be legit as long as you have a hole in your bum.

That's a typo. Or fake.

+1

No hope dude. It's a trap.

This. Listen to this man.
If that were true I would not even think about it. But that alone would make the alarm bells go off.

My Audi itch is strong.

Moving up to Irene, PTA for a few months soon. Then I can do my impulse buy up there with a better selection.

By the end of the year I must have one for my final move to Cape Town.

Hi everyone!! So I've been looking up some Audi A4's (pre-owned). I found a 2009 Audi A4 2.0T Multitronic Ambition with 80 000kms. The car is in excellent condition and has a full service history. Can anyone tell me if this is a good car for R200 000? I want to get at least another 6 years with approx. 10 000 kms per year.

Any help, advice or comments would be appreciated! Thanks

I just mentioned in the other Audi thread that my wife lost R40k trade-in on her 2005 A4 1.8T Multitronic because of the mandatory gearbox replacement at 180k kms replacement. They told her it is R80k and they split it with her. Still a big loss.
She traded it in, in 2012 with R120k kms on the clock. Just check this out in case it may apply to you when you eventually trade it in.
Found the Tiptronic in my A6 to be a much better drive that the Multitronic in hers. But that is personal preference.

The driveway did look cool with 2 black Audi's parked in it though. Pity she is anti Audi now

Stealerships are paying R130 - R150k (if that) trade in for them, so not a great price. If it's from a stealership, it's normal. Hope it's the one with LED DRLs. Mostly 08 - 09s without.

Also remember that the new shape (B9) is coming out soon, so B8 prices will drop rapidly.

Yeah, I was also looking for an A4. Saw a black 1.8T, 2010 model with 51 000km on the clock for R199k, cream leather interior!! Stunning looking car but the dealer was out in Rustenburg. Asked him if he could bring it through to Johannesburg for a test drive. He said he would arrange and get back to me. Still waiting... I'm 90% sure I would have taken it!!

EDIT: R200k for a 2009 with 80 000km is a very average price!!
