The Audi Thread

Great, constructive answer...

I never said I approve of it, but if you're the type of person that wants to drive a new car every 3 years, with no concern for the cost, it's (probably) better than using a more traditional installment sale.

Personally, I prefer to save up and buy cash, thereby earning interest instead of paying it.

Instead of acting like a ********, why don't you explain to people why you don't think it's a good idea? From your initial, post your main problem seemed to be the deposit, which I merely stated that I don't see that as the main reason to avoid that deal.

The guy asked about any hidden costs/issues. I gave him one. You said saving R40k in 3 years is no biggie, like I was wrong for pointing it out and it is nothing to worry about... Now you are in full attack mode, calling me a ********. Whatever that word may be.

Dude, get off your high horse. I never said you were wrong for pointing it out. You're the one that said the deal was made for people like me, which I took to be an insult - that's why I 'attacked' you.

Anyway, we've given our opinions on the matter, let's leave it that.

This is a debate that could rage on for a long time and it's nearly impossible to factor in all the variables when making such a decision.

High horse... Haha... Good night.

Any Q5 owners lurking in here? Half looking at something from 2010 and wanted to know what to expect (not going to have time in the next 3 weeks to go look at any )

Sorry to cause a stir here :-)

I can't find this info in the audi brochure. Can someone clarify:

1. Does the service plan cover brake replacement?
2. What exactly is the difference between the SE and the S Tdi models?

Regarding 1, if you PM your email I'll send the terms/conditions I received from Audi

1. = No. Only a maintenance plan will cover brake replacement.

1. Yes, everything is included except: Excessive clutch wear from driver abuse, tyres and top up oil.

I got my Q5 yesterday, bought it from a bmw dealer after searching on autotrader, got 60k on the clock and a 2011 model.

I was mightily impressed with the Q5 when it first launched. Ridonkulous prices, though.

Yes the new price is crazy, got a quote from Audi of R650k for a new one so I rather went for a 3 year old model

What gadgets and the like does it come with? Petrol or diesel and what economy do you get? Whats the ride like, etc. Like I said, next 3 weeks I wont have time to test a single one so all these questions just keep bugging me :p

It's the 2.0 T FSI 132kw. Haven't had it long enough to know what economy I get as I only fetched it after work yesterday. Before this I had a A4 1.8T, the 118 kw one, and this one is quite a bit more powerful, all the instrumentation (dashboard) is exactly like in the A4 I had. All I can say is that it drives like a dream!
