Okay thanks! I tried at R150k but he wouldn't budge. I had a valuation report done though, trade value is R230k
I am highly suspect of that figure. Retail value, perhaps.
Dealers would offer R130 - R140k on the above.

Maybe give a 2.0 TFSI/TDI A6 a shot? I doubt it would be close though

Being A8s, they are extremely difficult to sell so pricing will probably be very neg
@mike - what are you looking for?
Holy ****.
How the hell do Audi only get 88KW from a turbocharged 1.8?
I am. And I do like the A5. But it just doesn't give me that same awesome feeling I used to get with my A6. Just looking at that vehicle used to induce feelings of pride. Everyone knew how much I loved that vehicle. I don't get that with the A5. The A5 is just a car. The acceleration is insane and the B&O sound is insane.
I am actually concerned that another A6 may not even do it for me.
They can't find anything. Even upped my price range from R300k to R350k.
Audi Hatfield won't respond to their emails or return calls. So the one I liked there is not going to happen.
If Audi Airport let me reverse the deal, then I will take my time and hunt for the right A6 - or A7 if I hit a luck.
Bottom line is I don't think the A5 is worth what I paid. I could have gotten better.
I dunno. Maybe my head is just a mess at the mo. Once you've had an A6 though, it's hard for others to compete.
Nice hey. Would chomp juice I would imagine.
Holy ****.
Any special engine/specs? There seem to be a couple in Gauteng in your price range, mostly 2l though.
I would give a 2.0 a test drive again but would prefer a V6. Just love the purr and the smooth drive. Both my A6's where V6's loved them.
I tested drove a 2012 A6 2.0 a few weeks before I got the A5 and was a bit bumbed with it. Was a downgrade from my 2007 A6 so I passed. Need gadgets and it was pretty basic. Was a nice drive for a 2.0L though.
Spec wise.. Bluetooth, Xenons, sunroof, AMI (iPod/SD), electric seats, diesel, Quattro, windscreen water detection and PDC are have to have.
Nice would be adaptive cruise control, B&O sound. As long as sound is very good (had Bose previously and B&O now) I wil be content.
+1
Seats and the wood aren't my thing - but great car for the money
What is the numeric pad near the zircon?
According to www.um.co.za the A6 3.2 Quattro uses 15.5 l/100km and the A8 4.2 Quattro 9.5 l/100km...
Engine efficiency is way better these days

I don't know about those figures. My 2007 A6 3.2 FSi Quattro I just traded in did around 7.9 to 8.3/100 on the freeway at a constant 128km/h. Could get just over 1000kms on the freeway from one tank.
Town driving was around 12 if I behaved. Seldomly behaved though. When I first got her 5.5 years ago I got 360kms a tank, and later when I stopped racing everything (including the wind) then I got closer on 500.
Factory spec in city. Rather use Fuelly.
A6 3.2 Quattro is 9 - 12 l/100
A8 4.2 Quattro is 9 - 12 as well, likely due to less need to push it comparatively.
Can't find anything for the 3.0 TDI though, though I'd estimate 7 - 9 if one is gentle with the throttle.

Not asking for much, are you?I'll keep a lookout in the Cape.
One my 5th Audi now dude. The needs increase with each one.
I remember my first A4 1.8 13 years ago. I did not even check specs. It was my first Audi and that was all that mattered. Will never forget taking delivery of that car and driving away feeling like a king. Was awesome.
My second A4 was a 2.8 and since then I stuck to V6. After the A4's was A6's (2.8 then 3.2) and now the A5.
Specs have improved with each.
The A8 you quote on fuel consumption, is it the new model?
I checked specifically for 2009 - 2011 values for the 4.2, and estimated the TDI according to the consumption in the A7
