Collected my car yesterday.

He said it wasn't the coil pack, but definitely the piston - metal actually broke off and they had to take apart my whole engine to repair. He thinks just really bad luck or maybe faulty from the factory

R30,000 if this was out of plan.

How much you reckon if from a non-Audi franchise?

My motor plan expires soon, end of this month. I wanted them to give it a once over before it ends but they say I would need to pay (R2,100) to have an 80-point check done and where applicable, any issues found would be replaced under motor plan.

Not sure.

Sounds worth it but I'm sceptical. Rather go to an independent specialist first, pay much less for an assessment, and then decide if it's worth the R2,100. Obviously if the indie picks up things you can claim, it'll be worth the R2,100.

Thanks, well even though Audi would prefer I use them for the 80-point check, I was thinking then the R2,100 is unnecessary, just get the indie to list what he picked up?
 
I am having a problem with my radio when trying to play music from a memory card. It keeps telling me that it is unreadable. I have two cards both SDHD cards. Is it perhaps the way I need to format the cards? I formatted NTFS but am thinking perhaps FAT would be better...

Yes, use FAT32 as the format as that's usually used by media devices.
 
So im looking at trading in on a A3 and the dealership offer me R55k for my 07 A4 B7 2T multitronic 90 000km on clock. . . . Seriously? If I look on Autotrader a 07 B7 with double my KM's is around R120 - R140K. . . . So what gives?

Are they just being greedy?

But seriously, anything wrong with the car? Cosmetic/mechanical issues to fix? I know stealerships will be as greedy as possible, but that offer seems a tad low.

Factory warranty should have covered it even if it was out of plan...

Cosmetically yes, there is a bash on the right hand side and is going to my insurance and is getting fixed next week, they were happy with this and said even if they collect the car from the panel beaters they can. Other than that the car is fine. They even drove it to make sure the gearbox was ok. Multitronic and all.

Low balling it is then. Well screw them.
