Ultimate B5 ? http://www.autoevolution.com/news/c...-wants-30000-for-it-photo-gallery-103102.html

Could be, it's got semi-DTM wheels and all...

Cabbie is in for some work since last week. Today I got a call to say they have a loan car, but it's "all they have available". Was expecting a Polo ... ended up with an A4 TFSI instead. Life is hard :D

Not bad for a manual :p

Only got to drive it home thus far (gave me an empty tank). Will do some out and about tomorrow. Very nice to drive though. Will compare after some more kms.

OK, I've made a plan for you for Friday with my guy in Retreat (little bit closer for you too). Will Whatsapp you shortly.

Your guy in Retreat in a star! He is now my guy in Retreat as well :D

Thanks for putting me in touch with him. I can sleep easy at night now :)

Worst thing about it is no S Tronic.

Also read it only managed a 6.6 sprint

In one article I read weight was an issue, as the S1 is already heavier than rivals - and another said physical space

The gearbox is nowhere near as quick as the s-tronic but is adequate. It's one of those cars that will keep surprising you like a mentally unstable Jack Russell. The spare wheel sits on the backseat so only three people can fit comfortably.

Edit: I also found myself reaching for the paddle-shifts.

And performance?

On paper the S1’s good for 5.8 second 0-100km/h sprints, but our test equipment recorded 6.6 seconds at Gauteng altitude. A frustrating second to third gear change just before the 100km/h mark didn’t help. Still, not at all slow and a best quarter-mile time of 14.6 seconds puts it into company with the Nissan 370Z and VW Scirocco R. The S1 is actually even quicker, slightly, than the Golf 7 GTI with a manual transmission

I didn't get a chance to launch the car because of traffic (bloody waterfront) but the low down torque just catapults the car from any gear. I'd compare it to the 135i coupe I drove a while back which had a very similar feel.

shhhhh .... don't do that in an Audi thread ;)

I've just finished a thread with 135s and 2352 and 7Rs and S3s ... and it got messy
