The Audi Thread

I am at 99 735 km...- just checked have some Motorite Warranty Cover that will kick in when the 100k.km mark is reached. The more I am looking at this 39k, the more it is screaming daylight robbery!

Your location says South of Cape Town...not sure what that means.

What date will you hit 100,000km more or less?

If you have time (which you may not) you should check out some things before my motor plan ran out...

by my calculations - will be under, when she goes for service next Thursday...Already noted couple of things : side mirror, passenger side, a clip has failed/fatigued, so there is a gap, only noticeable if you really look...does not affect retraction or operation of the side mirror. The steering wheel controls for the radio, are intermittent..and back seat window control...also intermittent. Other than that, she is in perfect condition.

You might want to check will they cover that stuff as the parts might only arrive /problem found once your motor plan has expired.

Went to trade my A5 in now - R256,000. So R64,000 down in 13 months.

Unfortunately the Volvo I wanted had been sold

That's quite heavy. Why not try sell privately? Not sure what they're worth
He says trade is R260k - so he got close. Guessing R300k or so?

Just a ball ache going private. Wanted to try a simple trade

So took the car in for the booked service...- got a call, to advise..that noted defects has been addressed. The steering wheel controls for the radio, radio is faulty...will be replaced...part is on back order, ETA 21 days--. Mirror and back seat window control, sorted. All sorted, or that is what I thought. Get handed the keys, ..about to drive off, when I check the service book...no entry of the service. I query this...I get the responds...but sir, the car was not booked in for a service!

What followed next was my blood pressure shooting through the roof, and me using the word ruse in public. First, it was car was never booked in for a service...but to sort out the noted deficiencies. Then it was, because car is so close to the 100k km mark, they had to first get the authority from, whatever motorplan god...to see if the service would be covered by the motorplan....I was like, wtf...why is this the first time I hear of this issue. When I booked the car in for a SERVICE, I explicitly asked...is this covered by the motorplan, and you said yes...

After a couple of rather intense verbal exchanges, ....either the motorplan will cover the service,...or the dealership will cover it...- service, will occur when the radio gets replaced.

Well, I get home....and try back seat window switch...and guess ****en what....the thing still does not work!

Tomorrow, I am calling the dealer principal.

Got my K&N air intake for my A4 2.0T today...going to install it tonight :D

Downside was having to pay R1700 at the Post Office :(

Not sure I'll be get another Audi.

Kinda sad as the BMWs etc don't appeal to me, but not sure I can live with 2nd rate service
