Yes and won't do so in the future unless they have an exceptional deal.

Came to view one car and bought another that was on their floor. They made me a trade in offer on my current car and I signed the offer to purchase with the agreed buying and trade in prices.

Paid the difference, waited about a week to get the window tint removed and a replacement mirror glass on the new car.

Finally went to collect it. The manager drove my car, came back and said he'd offer 20% less on the trade in - not negotiable. This was after they had driven the car the weekend before. Nothing had changed and he couldn't give me a reason as to why he'd offer less.

I left with my car, got my money back in 7 days and proceeded to receive a speeding fine and e-toll bills on the car I never collected.

They also lost the registration papers to the car and I had to go with them to the licensing department to get it reprinted.
 
Ahoudet is that sounds awful...

I'm actually leaning towards an A5 as a replacement for my 335i if I can sell it. Actually tried multiple times to buy this pre facelift but with nav and the Alcantara sports seats, plus quattro and s-tronic which I want.

Seems that dealer can't be bothered to actually contact me when they say they will etc. Actually given up at this point. I know they were quite busy with the whole 4 day sale thing but still...
Decided maybe a private sale of a facelift tdi for 185k was more sensible option. Had the right seats but no nav.

So hard to find decent service these days. Ridiculous.

I'm also looking at this, but they must knock R30k off their asking price.

Well that's why I figured they can either give me what I want for trade or knock it off the price because who else wants to buy a car basically now 2 shapes old because I'm sure the A5 will shortly receive the same treatment as the A4.
At the 250k mark you have A5,A6 and A7 options. Not really keen on A4,just too similar. There was a very nicely specced S4 on a private sale that was still available last time I checked. I test drove one and it was nice, smoother than the 335i which is not a bad thing in my old age :p. 2.0 or a 2/3 tdi makes more sense though.
 
I'd grab a 3.0t in a heart beat. Great engine, lots of power, in the region or 220kw and light so they tend to be quite frugal. Also scope for software modifications further boosting performance. Can easily attain S4 power output figures. Really keen on this A6 despite its age. Love the beige interior too with the wood inlaws, very accomplished interior.

Only 89k on the clock!

As always there's good value to be had from the used car market Mike. I'm itching!!! A5/ A6 preferably 3.0t... A7 still not doing it for me although a neighbour just got a black RS7. I jizz a little every time I see/hear it!!

Oh my. I jizzed a little with you just mentioning it. Sigh...
I want one so bad, my wife tends to phone me when she finds herself behind one somewhere out there. Calls to describe it, tell me what it sounds like, etc.. Not sure if it's because she knows how bad I want - or just tormenting me. Sometimes even whatsapp's a pic...

I will settle for an A7 though. The pre-owned prices are starting to come within range now.

3.0t is the one, or so I've been told. Good value, lots of power and a software remapping away from S performance. Most dealerships will even turn a blind eye to the remapping. Airport, whom I know you've dealt with and whom I've dealt with in the past, never took issue to my then modified A3 1.8t or the A4 1.8t that proceeded it.

Anyway. Let's see how it pans out.

Damn that is nice. But if a new A4 1.8T with 2 options on it hits 600k I'm sure an A5 2.0T with those options will be at least 700/750.
