Yip, at the end of the day I threw a lot into this car and it's money I would never have seen again - the car has unfortunately had a hard life, but hopefully, someone with more patience, spare cash and ability than me can turn it into a nice daily. Truth be told, all it needed still was the roofliner to be redone and some minor bodywork, and then the heavy fuel consumption which I am convinced is something to do with the MAF or the injectors but I've been through enough with it so it was time for it to go.
It's been replaced with a 2018 Renault Duster that will serve as the new daily. Maybe one day I will rejoin the Audi family, but for now, reliable motoring is needed and takes precedence over a nice ride or creature comforts. I have lost track of how much money I put into this car, but truthfully, it is probably close to the R80k mark all-in. I am actually too scared to go through my invoices, so let's leave it at that
