The Audi Thread

Not confusing at all given Audi's history...

Audi Loses Control Of Model Range
This is what happens when we don't fo0llow the swiss way of doing things (bottom up structure).

Too many cooks in the kitchen.

I still love Audi, I just can't afford a new one, or any new car.

My quattro 3.0TDi 2012 A4 (facelift) with 200k on the clock I think is only worth R60k (correct me if I'm wrong) even though it pulls away from S3's and Golf R's.

This is all with deceiving 17" 1.8T mags (told the sales guy to chuck the 19's as I was sick and tired of dodging potholes). So awesome, rides like a limo, not one bulge or bent rim, and I don't even bother missing stuff anymore. 98 load rating really saves you money. Even 2x4's in the middle of the N2 are nothing when you ride over them.

I'm just worried about long term bills, so will keep my dads 2000 A6 2.4 Tiptronic from the estate. Needs new control arms as doing a 3 point turn is pretty embarrassing. I think it also needs new gaskets as the engine is wet under the cover.

This makes me sad as I bought the 3.0 TDi for R250k about 5 years ago.

‘AUDI’ is, um, Audi’s China-only brand, and this is AUDI’s 765bhp E concept

Audi finds the caps lock and launches an electric car outfit in China

Audi has launched a new brand in China, and it is called AUDI. In a classic ‘I didn’t hear you the first time can you repeat that please’, this shouty new AUDI is a collab with China’s SAIC, with an ambition to build “intelligent connected vehicles”.

So connected in fact, AUDI – no, we heard you the first time – has dispensed with, um, Audi’s famous four rings. Look at the car above. No rings. Sorry, NO RINGS.

Ah yes, the car above. It’s called the AUDI E concept, developed by Audi Germany and – can you speak up a bit please – AUDI China, offering a preview of “three future production models to be introduced from mid-2025”.

Size-wise, it’s roughly there or thereabouts an Audi A6 Avant – though obviously fatter because Concept Car – and features a 100kWh battery providing electricities to a twin-motor setup (one on the front axle, one on the back).

I'm checking the tyre pressures on my A3, and the spare wheel (Marie biscuit type) says 60psi which is about 4.1 bar.

Do these marie biscuit spare wheels require such high tyre pressure? I'm nervous to make it so high!

Seems Audi is ok with that, the sticker inside your door also list the presure and it state 4.2.

I've been meaning to put air into my marie biscuit spare tyre, then I realised hang on this tyre is now 14 years old as my A3 was manufactured November 2010!

Would it be be best to go and get a new spare tyre in case it's ever needed?

Perhaps, I don't know where you'd get one, from Audi themselves will cost a mint.
Just inspect the tyre for dry rot or any other damage, if it still looks fine then leave it.
Just make sure to never go over 60km/hr when you use those things and you'll be fine..

Yeah, they are like hens teeth. My 19' got a puncture and I gave up looking for just the tyre to replace, always no stock and the one from the dealer would be on back order from germany and was something stupid like R10k so I just bought a normal mag and tyre which takes all the boot space now.

I think it says 80km/h max on it and yes, it needs that high pressure because its so thin, think its like 4.5bar.
