The Audi Thread

Is that the factory interior colour?
Pretty sif if you ask me

Not judging but this colour doesn’t suit the RS7 at all IMHO. But I guess he is having way more fun driving his car than I am mine so power to him:cool:

That blue.. i don't know. i actually like colors, but more in clothing and furniture etc. When i bought my current Audi it was one of the options too but i just couldn't get my mind around it. The only 2 that do it for me is black, or that unique grey Audi has which is not available on all models.

I'm thinking of getting an RS3 next year. But i'll see how things go. Funny-enough i think because its a bit niche and not common, i've seen 1-yr old RS5's selling for the same or less than a new well spec'd RS3 lol.

Hi guys, I keep having to clean my 2014 SQ5 intake due to exhaust gas re-circulation.
Its barely lasting 15000km between needing cleans or I get intermittent rough running/issues.
I've been quoted R4500 to do an EGR delete which I've been told won't cause any other issues.

Can anyone advise a more cost effective place or a solution that works better?
Does the EGR delete indeed cause no issues or?
Thanks

If the EGR delete is done properly including coded out it's a good move, better performance and fuel economy.

Who would be the recommended garages in the Cape Town area to do this sort of work properly? The quote I got was from RMH in Parow who I've had no issues with for the last 3 years using them.

Best to take it to a VAG specialist, there are a few good ones in Cape Town.
I think @Gtx Gaming knows one

I also use RMH - they are good.

Uncle had them do the EGR delete on his Amorok 2 weeks ago, very happy with the result.

Oh lord not again: Audi’s changed its model naming strategy

No more odd and even numbers to denote powertrain, it’s back to square one

Sigh. Audi has changed its model naming strategy yet again and at this stage, your head is likely spinning faster than a crankshaft on one of its combustion-engined cars.

Speaking of, they won’t get a separate odd number to denote they’re gas-guzzling ICE cars anymore. And Audi’s electric cars won’t hog all the even numbers. “The previous distinction between different drivetrain technologies according to even and odd model numbers no longer applies,” said Audi.

So if you want an Audi A6, you’ll choose an Audi A6 and then decide whatever powertrain you want in that Audi A6. Just like before. When it all made sense.

This outburst of sensibleness is apparently a result of customer wishes and international dealer feedback. “Our nomenclature now provides all customers worldwide with an intuitive orientation in our portfolio,” said Audi's sales and marketing boss Marco Schubert.

“We choose the names of our models in a way that reveals size and positioning at first glance,” he added. Novel idea, no? To those of you who’d just gotten used to ‘even numbers for EVs, odd numbers for ICE’, sorry. Unlearn everything.

Need a quick reminder of how Audi named its cars ten minutes ago and might very well change in the next ten minutes? A-badged cars are its ‘low-floor’ models, Q-badged ones its – that’s right! – ‘high-floor’ versions. The number denotes how big it is. The first suffix tells you what shape – estate, saloon, coupe-saloon – and the final suffix tells you what you need to put in it to go forwards or backwards, be that electrons or fuel. Amazing.
