The Avengers: Infinity War (spoilers allowed)

Currently on a secret mission for shield where he's probably gone back in time thanks to Ant-Man's help.

Stark needs to bring the series full circle by being the one to kill Thanos. Of all the Avengers, he's the one who has come closest to grips with his own mortality and powerlessness, and that drives him to become stronger.

We can also chalk up Vision and Gamora being gone for good. Both were sacrificed for their respective stones instead of being dusted, which means that reversing anything isn't going to work for them.

Ant-Man is likely also going to be a crucial player in the un-dusting because his ability allows him to enter and travel through the subatomic universe where space and time doesn't exist.

Now all that remains is figuring out what powers Captain Marvel will have, and how did Nick Fury know what was happening immediately when he saw people dusting on earth?

People still do stupid things, and some forum apps show content from the latest post when browsing threads.

Yeah I wouldn't advocate for someone as critical as Stark being dusted. He doesn't even need to die to leave phase 1 of the MCU - he could play a part in finding a successor (who takes a while to get going in phase 2, to let others take the limelight) and to also ensure Spiderman is sorted out technologically for the future. He could do all sorts of useful stuff for the team and then retire quietly with Pepper or something like that. Well, that's if they took my preferred route. How things are now seems unlikely he's going to live much longer.

I also think Ant-Man will be critical, and that the non-dusted deaths from Infinity War are probably the only real deaths.

Someone like Fury can probably react quickly to a doomsday scenario without needing to gawp like most folk. Seeing someone turn to dust and knowing that many others are disappearing (empty car, helicopter etc) is all the info he needed to signal for help imo. He was probably gearing up for something really bad anyway considering he knew that the crew were fighting Thanos.

Highly unlikely. The actor has mentioned several times how trying it is being Vision, and I don't think too many people will miss him all that much. He started out great (hyper intelligent, smooth talking Jarvis man) but over the last two appearances has become more and more human, and less and less special. He was so nerfed in Infinity War that I immediately assumed his goose was cooked.

I think from a writing standpoint alone, Vision and Scarlet Witch are hard going to work into anything. Good chance she won't survive or stick around after the next Avengers film.

what makes thanos a good villain is that his character is not power hungry and out for glory as your usual textbook villain.

he truly believes in what he is doing and believes it to be for the good of the universe.

makes me not hate him completely.

/the hulk though :crylaugh: - No!!! what do you mean no!
/ i was dead!! :crylaugh:

Yeah, Thanos was epic. Probably my favourite character from the film.

- actual personality and seeks peace and prosperity for all
- said he likes Quill to his face and made no attempt to hurt him
- didn't kill Drax or Mantis when it would have been as easy
- was legit torn up about Gamora
- very respectful towards Stark
- conducted himself honestly with all the characters with little to no grandstanding
- didn't rely entirely on the stones to fight and gave several bouts a chance against him
- didn't even harm Thor at the end
- at the end, seemingly no intention to cause further harm and death

I dig him as a villain.

IIRC the plan was to neuter the Mind Stone, not to back him up.

according to Banner, Visions personality was made up of a mixture of the stone, Jarvis, Ultron, Banner and Stark , if they just removed the stone it would essentially destroy a portion of what made his personality, but if they could copy that part from the stone , they could remove the stone and destroy it without changing vision

In the opening scene, I think I saw her body.

I saw the movie twice and didn't notice that. They're both pretty significant characters so it would be super weird to kill them off without people noticing. Especially when they could have used the deaths of well-liked characters to increase the impact of Thanos's destruction, in the event of wanting to kill them off.

Peter Dinklage was a nice surprise.

I knew he was in there, so as soon as they mentioned the dwarves of a certain place, I knew he was gonna show up.
But it was nice to see him be the big guy for once!

'Avengers: Infinity War' Opens with Record Shattering $250M Domestic & $630M Intnl

Audiences assembled worldwide as Disney and Marvel's Avengers: Infinity War broke both the domestic opening weekend box office record and worldwide opening record with a massive $250 million domestically and $630 million worldwide. In its wake, the majority of films on the weekend box office chart fell dramatically, though fellow Marvel Cinematic Universe release Black Panther improved its position from eighth place last weekend to a spot in this weekend's top five, truly making this a Marvel-ous weekend.

Infinity War's opening weekend bests the previous record of $247.9 million set by Star Wars: The Force Awakens back in December 2015 by just over $2 million, but it's also worth mentioning Disney under-estimated Black Panther's $202 million opening by nearly $10 million on Sunday. The studio also under-estimated The Avengers's performance by $7 million and under-estimated Avengers: Age of Ultron by $3.6 million. As such, don't be surprised to see Infinity War's debut blossom come actuals on Monday afternoon. At this moment, the film accounts for 84.4% of the domestic top twelve, second only to Ultron's 84.5% market share.

Additional domestic records of note include the largest single Saturday gross, largest single Sunday gross, largest April opening, largest Spring opening, widest PG-13 release and fastest film to $150, $200 and $250 million.

Internationally, Infinity War delivered a monstrous $380 million from approximately 72% of the international marketplace. The debut is the second largest to Fate of the Furious though its important to note that film had the benefit of China grosses over its opening weekend, which represented $185 million (41.7%) of its $443 million international debut. Altogether, Infinity War's global debut reached $630 million, shattering the previous record of $541.9 million set by Fate of the Furious and doing so without China, where the film will open on May 11.
