The Banting/LCHF Thread

I had this for breakfast this morning. Absolutely delish... I got it from a Tim Noakes book.

OK tks, is there a pleasant substitute?

Or I can just leave it out of the recipe.

I just substituted it's quantity with another seed flour and it came out the same but better tasting. Experimentation ftw :D

200?

Nee donner, for me, that's waaaay too much

Thats my daily limit and it seems to work. Lose very slowly now days but thats my goal. Some days are 250g.

But most are under 200g. It seems to work and is technically classified as low carb .

Im thinking of trying this out. Started today. boiled some eggs for breakfast and lunch, with an avo and two tomatoes plus some biltong to snack on. I weigh [email protected], my goal is to get back to 90-95kg, so I want to loose at least 20kg.

should work pretty well, I have basically the same but I have some salami or boerewors instead of the biltong and I'm losing nicely per week

Awesome, My problem most of the time is that I make too much food and eat is all up in one go, this is particularly hard when the food is too good. And garage pies and Coca Cola is the reason I lost control... :( and Potatoes, my goodness how I love potatoes...

How I miss those 2x pie specials in Fridays

Liewe aarde! Where do you buy pants?

LOL, that is why I need to loose a bit of weight, Buying clothes is a nightmare, especially long sleeve clothing. I look like an orangutan with long legs.
Any suggestions on recipe books? Im looking at the real meal revolution R189 @ Takealot, book any good?

true, but iirc you exercise as well, right?

noooooooo, don't want to exercise. would rather stick to under 100.

Tks Mephisto for the warning about flax seed. I agree experimenting is the way to go so I substituted a small quantity of almond flour and, honestly the bread is delicious.

Go Jaco! GL

There's no problem with the book, the only problem is that there are very few LCHF recipes that are quick to make. Unless it involves eggs. :p

100 is still waay too much for me. I literally only eat things which are low low low on carbs. Even the Fatty yoghurts still have too much carbs for me. I don't actually count anymore, but only use the products that are know are super low carb.
