I did wonder why American Airlines suddenly switched to white from the exposed metal in the last few years, thought it was just to align with their new brand CI.

It depends which airline is available for a specific destination, some Airlines don't fly specific countries. Out of the British Airways, South African Airways, China Airlines, Emirates, Singapore Airlines and Cathay Pacific Airways I have been on I prefer Singapore Airlines.

As for best Airlines changes every year.

Really the best. Emirates was ok but Qatar had newer airplanes. So nicer. And once you've gone thru Changhi you know why Singapore is best. No irritating security.

It all depends on class and the flight. Emirates, Qatar and Ethiad are probably all good on the day.

Pick a full flight and your experience will almost always be the same IMO. Newer 777 and A380 are good planes and all the top airlines use them... all these things come into play. I'd pick the A380 over the 777 personally, but TBH it boils down to my seating arrangement at the end of the day.

The stars on the ceiling and sunset/sunrise on Emirates does it for me. I'm easy to please lol. 30 hours in plane seats is no fun no matter who you fly though... unless it's first class.
