The price of bus tickets and minibus taxi trips are quite similar. If your comparing a bus to a taxicab, they are quite different services.

Feel free to subscribe to DSTV and not use a decoder. DSTV now would cost exactly what DSTV costs. Do you expect some sort of discount for watching through the internet rather than a satellite?

Actually no, it should be cheaper to stream.

Satellite bandwidth is prohibitively expensive.

Only a part of it is the cost to access the content.

The rest is to pay for infrastructure.

Data Centres are infinitely cheaper than satellites especially over the longer term.

The only reason DSTV uses satellite is for a lack of other ways to get into people’s homes.

Why do you think the first world uses cable instead and pays much less for it?

Showmax via Explorer sucks

Same here lol haven't watched it..

I have tried watching Showmax via Explorer and it is ok.
My beef is that there is no way of getting a text list of the Showmax Titles. I only have a 10Mbps fibre line and after scrolling down 4 pages I get frustrated at the slow generation of the images and give up. My wife is/was an avid movie goer and is also not prepared to scroll down slow page after slow page due to the images that also have to be downloaded.

Anyone found a way to get a text listing of the titles ?
