The biggest data hogs under lockdown level 1

Several ISPs have told MyBroadband that while certain data traffic patterns have returned to pre-lockdown levels, total data usage among fibre customers remained very high.

Driven by a huge increase in remote working and learning setups, South Africa's COVID-19 lockdown saw Internet usage surge among fibre-to-the-home customers.

Why use the pejorative term of hog? They are just a user and if the ISP is unhappy about the amount of data used they can take action. If you speed read 14 books a week nobody would call you a book hog. There are plenty of books available and it doesn't impact on others.

And this is why MWEB started to shape their "Free the web" packages.

And if one ISP starts to throttle and shape then they all will.

Makes me upset because the networks were already under tremendous strain and now you get this 81TB griefer who made things worse for people who were trying to get work done.

Whoever you are go and get psychological help seriously the HD porn wont fill the void.

Maybe Sharing/Resell of Network in a Complex.

I have never seen that before ever.

Torrents are the real damager. On a 1Gbps symmetrical line starting a 50GB torrent at 8pm and then going to bed when you wake up that same torrent uploaded 3-5TB overnight.

Say what now? A person using 81TB has no effect on the network or others?

81TB over 30 days is 2.7TB a day which is about 112GB an hour.

a 1GB line can do about 350/360GB an hour, as I have one myself. So he is not even averaging a third of what he can do and people are complaining?

lol.
