The biggest mistakes SA tech employees make

Hard to believe anyone can make any of those mistakes, they are common sense.

The only one that was interesting to me is the fail quickly and move on advice :D I sometimes hang onto an issue way longer than is practical.

One thing I still see often is employees who use their work email account for personal stuff. In this day and age of smartphones and free web-based email accounts I can't understand why people continue to use their work email accounts for personal stuff.

Great. Sex with coworkers isn't on the list. :)

I got my eye on a couple of targets but always thought it would be frowned upon.
Time to set things in motion.

Or they use to store their personal data on their company-issued laptops... things like personal finances, payslips, photos etc...

I made that "mistake" once. It is all great until you break up with her. Then things deteriorate rapidly afterwards.

Ha, ha! This reminds of that Jeff guy on WebAfrica who used to talk about how he ate a hamburger here and there and his nightlife. Completely unprofessional. I think Mweb got him after he 'left'.

Or she turn around and blackmail you with that..... ... ... ... ...

...best to stay away from that, totally, no matter how hot she is....

They block all other email providers at most corporate places, so people use what they have access too. Remember to become a CIO you need to pass How to be an Internet Nazi to your employees....

Nah, just drop off an unmarked envelope full of those special selfies no-one else will ever see on her desk. That shuts them up.

"An online CEO said"

Defuq is an "online" CEO ? Ie a made up one?

Mostly good advice. I reckon a lot of people don't follow this type of advice. As noted, the "don't dip your pen in office ink" should have been added too. Perhaps "watch your alcohol intake when near your bosses" could be useful too.

Pity they didn't name these CEOs and companies, then everyone would know which employers to avoid.

The article is too generic and not specific to "tech employees".

Is complaining about your company as a customer of your company still fine though?

The articles is mostly saying "social media is bad"
