But isnt then in their best interest to make it increase significantly like it did to R317 000, and then have to drop to like R250 000?

They make money either way so they'll do whichever is easier to pull off at the time.
 
Guys, does Luno tie the price of Ether and Bitcoin? Whenever Bitcoin goes down, Ether goes up. The reverse also happens. Why is that?

Like all alt coins(majority anyway), they're traded mainly in btc. If btc goes up, but eth stays the same, the dollar value remains, which means its less btc, make sense?. Eg, you buy 1eth for 1btc, btc currently $10k. btc price then goes to $20k, that 1eth is now worth 0.5btc. $ value remains.
 
Another noob question from me. When this Lightning Bitcoin Hardfork happens will there be "free" coins ? And if/when it happens I presume you should not have your BTC on Luno exchange but in a wallet.
