Lol I’ve been trying with crypto but I’m listening to all my friends that are bitching and moaning about the end that’s here and that’s when I started ****ting myself
 
So I've made 30% on various alts since yesterday, but all with small amounts. Now I also have some big holdings, but for the life of me I can't trade them the same way. Like I took 10% of one of my long term holds and tried to flip it in the chaos. Settled for 10% gain, and today that would have been 50%. What's worse is I said to myself, sell it and wait a day before buying back :mad: Any advice on how to make that emotional disconnect? Must I become like Dexter (the killer, not the lab kid :p)

Dont flip your portfolio during the panic stages that we are experience right now. Flip portfolios when things quiet down if you are looking to rebalance. If in doubt dont touch it , take a break for a week or a month and come back and reassess because making financial decisions during panic periods is less likely to be the right decision.
 
I didn't panic sell anything, I wasn't in doubt, I have been expecting this for a loooong time. I knew what I wanted to do, but then didn't on my larger bags. And like I said I'm UP 30%, so it in hindsight it was the right call

This is the best advice, just forget about it for a bit. The market will recover eventually, it always has. Might just take a little while this time.

And then there is also this to consider, when you sell expecting to get in lower only to not be able to log back in and price shoots up leaving you humped in tears... just hodl

There was massive volume spike on Bitfinex just now at $9.6k. Largest volume traded in the last 24 hours. Might be signs of a turn.
 
Weird, Luno seems to be moving with the US price but always below it

When we have steep drops and climbs on Luno it sometimes gets out of sync. Most people trade based on USD movements and don't look back at how much it has moved. eg. If someone logs on now with the price at R120k and they see the USD price dropping they will want to sell even though we are down too low. Since enough people are doing this the price stays down.

On Luno we also have arbitragers knocking down the price when we get too high as we normally have a premium. We don't really have arbitragers pushing up the price here when it settles a bit lower than usual without the premium.
