I plan to have a target minimum amount of BTC I will leave on exchanges to actively trade with. Profits exceeding this "active trading fund", I will move off to my Ledger Nano S (once I receive it), for long term safe-keeping.

I will have to order one from their website. I see they will only ship their next batch on 22 June though. I couldn't find any local sources for the Ledger Nano S. Sad

Jaxx is good it's local. Not as good as a hardware wallet, but alot safer than a cloud wallet and exponentially safer than an exchange wallet.

Buy something with it and then sell that item at a "loss" You made no gains on the item you sold so no CGT to declare

I'm sure this last boom saw a number of bag holders trying to cash in but only to find AML/fraud systems going off and SARS slithering along asking for up to 40% in taxes.. SARS will be taking advantage of people who don't know their rights or the rules properly.
