Does anyone know if doge is effected by the same transaction bug as bitcoin? This is a pretty big bug.

According to this http://coinmill.com/XDG_calculator.html#XDG=1100000 thats R22000 worth of doge. Not bad.

Less unfortunately, I converted to BTC on Sunday and BTC has tanked since. I made a large loss now when I greedily converted almost everything I have to Doge (seeing as it's been climbing non-stop today) and five minutes after the conversion, Doge began falling... I sold BTC for Doge at a rate of 0.00000271 and it's now sitting at 0.00000260. I lost a lot in five minutes :D

Day Trading is not for most people, you will get burned badly.

Buy and hold I say.

Actually, I have done a fair bit of day trading and scalping/momentum trading on the stock markets and come off reasonably well (I did it more for the rush than to make money). Day trading is also how I managed to get to 1.1 million Doge (I started off with a small fraction of that, under 200k).

I watch the exchanges like a hawk when I'm near a PC, I've got Opera set to auto-refresh the trade page at bter.com every 20 seconds and I check it at constantly. On Sunday, for example, I spent about four solid hours just trading back and forth between currencies. I know day trading isn't for most as it takes time and balls. I know what to do which is why I can laugh at losing a fair chunk of money.

This evening was the first time today I had a chance to trade and it happened to be five minutes before the market changed direction... For now. To be honest, I'm seriously considering a trading bot. I've been able to give up mining as I'm making more trading than I was mining.

would now be a good time to buy?

Noob at this

Wait and see what happens after Saturday. Price might dip a bit, buy then. This is what I'm planning to do.
Buying now is a bit of an unknown..Only Bitcoin has gone through a halving afaik so it's anyones guess where Doge will go from here.

It has just passed PeerCoin so anything is possible :D

great potential to make a lot of money in a short amount of time,

kind of like when the gold rush in the US started, boom and then bust cycles,

could be that it will fall apart or that it will skyrocket, anybodys game right now,
afraid to start my multibit and see what my coins sitting at, who knows what shock it will be.

let me check my BTC in a week, when this whole thing calms down.

So after about 100 transactions today I've regained my loss in full AND I'm up almost 10 % :D

If you stick to small gains it's silly easy to make money (eg buy BTC at 0.00000293 and immediately sell for 0.00000291, buy again for 0.00000293, etc - adjusted as the value changes).

If this is true I might switch from FNB and go to Standard Bank.

(You also get 15% off when you pay with bitcoin instead of legacy payment methods like credit cards/Paypal!)
