Chinese Bitcoin Exchanges May Face Stricter Regulation and Licensure

Yesss.... This is actually a great thing. Get rid of those damn ICO schemes and pave the way for more mainstream confidence and adoption.
If one of the most communistic governments can actually work quickly and efficiently on this and the segwit chapter can come to a close this year then next year is going to be an insane year for BTC.

You lucky you still have money left to buy.. couldn't this happen a day after pay day lol
Rule 1: Don't invest in anything, if you can't afford to lose it. Be careful investing your paycheck into something as volatile as BTC.

lol I would never put my paycheck into it.. I would just put a part of it.. a little extra

So you are only into BTC investment for a 1 month horizon? Son, you need to re-evaluate if you want to invest in the crypto scene. It takes balls and patience. If you have neither of those, please rather buy some product from a Bank.

These "Plenty of people" know what they are talking about.

Throwing cash at something and losing 25% almost immediately isn't smart. If you have cash to waste then fine. I feel sorry for people who jumped on the hype train and spent their life savings when the price was over $4000. Not many people would have managed to buy in when the price was around $2000.

You have to obviously manage your risks and only invest as much as you can afford to lose. If people want to do stupid things, nobody can stop them. Also don't FOMO.

Hmm I dunno man. This is Bitcoin we're talking about here. It's all about long term confidence and the fact that it's here to stay is almost a given.
Those people who spent their life savings might be playing a very risky game but it's way too soon to make a call on whether it was a good or bad decision. Next year this time many of those people could be laughing all the way to the bank and many of us would be reading or hearing about them thinking "that could have been me"...

It seems so far the only people who've lost out with BTC are those who either literally lost their private keys, those who went in short term at the wrong time and those who panicked and pulled out.

In a heavily farting market the only sane strategy is to BAF*.

* Buy and Forget

Sound advice :D, specially for the new investors, no point panicking, what goes down will eventually come back up, and so it has been for many moons....

Anyone got a link or website where I can learn about candles and other investment tips (bull and bear).

Just interesting following this thread and watching all the "buy, buy" and "hold, hold" going on whilst the price remains flat for weeks and now tanks.

Dang! The price tanks to $3000! The sky is falling! Yet in December the price was in the $900's. Perspective and patience. It seems few people have these skills these days...

For something that grew 436% in a year I'd be more worried if the price didn't fall.
