Eth at 8k is either a glitch or you're still half asleep.

Was definitely at 8k, Luno automatically reduced my funds after sale... Shoulda taken a screenshot, but it automatically reverted 2 min after sale, now history is showing I sold at 5k. I just lost money and am gonne get killed by fees if I buy back.

Need a response from the Luno rep. If it was a glitch they should at the very least reverse the transaction without charging me fees, or honor the trade that was made.

Co-worker told me at around 09:30 that ETH went to 8k on luno - thought he was full of ****e. Checked it out and sold, would be interesting to get Luno's input on this and see how honest they really are.

Is that the price you got? Nothing to do with Luno's honesty, if that's where the market was. The Rand market for cryptos is not the same as the Dollar market - they tend to converge only as far as arbitrage opportunities present, but they are still different markets.

Ye, sold at 8k and they automatically changed it to 5k AFTER SALE WENT THROUGH, MY BALANCE WENT FROM 80k to 50k. I just baught back cause would never have sold at 5k - Fees were 0.6 ETH I am now down almost 3k in fees from where I initially bought with all this nonsense going on. Really not impressed. Have no screenshots of sale but my co-worker was an eye-witness to the price. I'm very unhappy.

Sorry if this is the wrong thread for all this but Luno rep seems active here.

Take this as a warning everyone, screenshot all transactions on Luno as soon as possible. Waiting for Luno reply.

That's just weird - should not be possible. If you enter a sell order at R8k it cannot magically change to R5k. Very concerning.

Luno will pass the buck.

Anyone want to start another exchange in SA? There is clearly a demand for something better than what we have.

Oh jeez. You bought during a glitch and are literally the first person to have had an issue with a transaction. I was on your side (luno need to reimburse you) but you're being silly now suggesting that everyone take screenshots.

Yes - take screenshots if you buy during an obvious glitch.

It's a suggestion - do it, don't do it. Just saying I will most definitely do so on big trades going forward.

I wasn't sure if the price was a glitch knowing the volatility of the market, so I sold. If it was a glitch, I accept it and am willing to forgo the 30k difference, but charging me fees on top of all this is a joke.

My points are:

1. I love Luno - been with them since they were Bitx.
2. If it was a glitch in their system I fully understand and will not insist on them honoring the trade. I will leave it to their discretion.
3. I do not appreciate that my BALANCE WAS REDUCED AFTER THE TRADE from 80k to 50k and that I now have to cover all the fees to buy back to ETH.

Pretty reasonable customer, no?

Glitches happen. Even on robust exchanges like the JSE.

Ideally you shouldn't be out of pocket for the glitch. But there might be a valid reason.

Give Luno a chance to investigate and respond.

Yeah..that's reasonable and fair.

Side note.. do you still have the R10 worth on BTC they gave you when you joined BitX. I think the BTC was trading at 3,5k or something ridiculous. Sigh..

No, sold all my BTC back in the day :/ The trick is not to think about it :D

That's what concerns me the most, the rest is easy enough to sort out. But things magically changing after trades is not on.

Hi guys. Wondering if anyone can help me. I have an unconfirmed transaction from last Sunday and it's not showing on blockchain.info but it showing on BTC.com.

Below is the transaction id. Any ideas how to get this transaction processed?

Thanks

Don't really see that txID on any of the explorers. You sure its been processed from where you sent it from and not just pending?

The delay could be due to the bitcoin backlog. Currently 74k tx's outstanding. If it's not that it could depend on the tx fee. If it's low then it will be shoved into low priority. Either way, if the transaction failed, it would reflect back into the original account.
