Yeah... Sad story. But true...

Had 3 BTCs.

They were all on his laptop and was stolen out his car.

Doesn't have any keys words etc... But did make backups of the laptop.

Can you not restore from this?

Sorry that's all the details I have.

If he can restore a full backup of his PC, things could get interesting.

Otherwise, it's gone for good, almost happened to me with coinomi wallet, until I found my pass phrase

Altcointrader giving me the runaround. I transferred funds to Luno last week but they didn't go through so I emailed support. I got no response so sent another mail asking them to reverse the transfer (it's not yet on the blockchain). They said they would cancel it. On Saturday and Monday I sent mail asking when it will reflect and just received this response today:

Dear Trader,

Thank you for your support.

The BTC would have reflected immediately after the reversal in your BTC balance.

Of course the mandatory response was 'I'm pointing out that it didn't appear immediately and is still not there'...
Let's hope they can actually check and confirm it themselves...

But I guess he's either got the private keys or he doesn't. Without them there's no way he's getting that bitcoin back.

Depends. If he backed the wallet up and it's not encrypted with password he should be fine.

It might be possible! He needs to check his backups if they contain his private key somewhere, and/or if he backed up his wallet too etc.

Looks like there's some sellers late to the party, probably arbitragers whose BTC took a while to transfer and now they just want to sell and get rid of it, instead of trying to trade on Luno.

Guys is there any "quite" time to transfer btc for lower fees?

Friend need to pay me via btc, but his btc is on wallet and not an exchange so he has to pay silly btc fees.

Like R1000 for R7500 transfer.

Yeah people still selling. Probably scared. I've seen this before though. Major oversell because of panic selling and everyone rushes to buy back at the same time when there's no supply. Never seen a drop of this magnitude before though. It's going to be crazy once it bounces back.
