So you claim that 1400BTC was moved in a few seconds? Under 5 minutes if I'm feeling generous? Let's have a look...

For the entire hour from 15h00-16h00, volume on bitfinex was only 3000BTC. Let's see if anything exciting happened in that hour on closer examination... Largest 5 minute volume in that hour was 967, right about the time of your post (15h45-15h50). If we go further into the 1 minute interval within this 5 minute period the largest volume was 302BTC...

You can draw your own conclusions... It certainly is possible for 1400BTC+ to be moved quickly, but I'd hazard that 99% of the time there is a good portion of the wall that simply gets cancelled

Check your time vs chart time;)

it was here, in 1min chart at 9300 total moved 2k

****ing crazy.
Aye.

And also...if you're going to do something silly, rather do it during a period of reasonable stability. To get into debt for bitcoin during an extremely volatile and unpredictable time is a very bad idea.

What software or app is this?

These are the good days as far as I'm concerned. This is exactly the time to be hoarding as much BTC as you can in preparation for the next bull run. Blood in the streets and all that.

n00bs are panic selling and handing their wealth to the smart money as usual.

How are you so sure there will be a "next bull run"?

There are at least 10 other alt coins out there that are better in every way imaginable than bitcoin.

Maybe one of those coins will take over the crypto crown

shew....that was rough. getting a breather!!!

gonna dump my buy from under 100k this morning -- and look for re-entry

My moneys on bounce through the roof... provided it gets through the 9300 buy walls... fark, 1470 on bitfinex

Edit, hells, it just blew through in seconds:wtf:

So why'd you make a post about a big wall at 15h50, with an edit at 15h55 about the wall being broken?... Nobody broke a 1470BTC wall at that time, not even close

Don't.
Imo you either have available cash to trade with or you don't trade at all. There will be plenty trading opportunities in the future either with Bitcoin or altcoins. Don't get into debt to make money.
Yeah, 100% correct and I agree. I'll just use some of my disposable savings.

No one have absolute certainty of when but if you want to make any sane predictions making any use of crypto trends looking back at the market over the last 6 years you can see for yourself that the biggest bullruns returned after every market crash, over and over. Now its up to you to agree or disagree on using any historic trading tendencies as future predictions but that has been a reasonable tool to use for me and others so far so no reason to think it will suddenly be any different.

With regards to bullrun I dont suggest bitcoin itself but crypto market. Dont expose yourself to a single coin even if it is bitcoin that is making high risk investment even more high risk. If you have a reasonable approach of spreading your portfolio across a decent size of altcoins along with bitcoin then you should be reasonably covered for the next bullrun.

Disclaimer on just about every investment product out there:
Past performance is not a guarantee of future performance.

Especially in the rapidly changing landscape of cryptocurrency...

anybody who looks at the charts -- have a look at the past 3 weekend friday, sat and up to sunday night.

tell me what you see consistently for these weekends.

/fishy business this

I suspect he wants to take out a loan in order to buy on luno at 10% discount, move funds to international exchange and sell and hold USD. The only problem and biggest risk to this is the delay between him getting the loan/overdraft, moving the funds to luno to buy and moving the funds to international exchange and sell for USD. If he times it wrong in any way he could be stuck with no gain and potentially exponentially higher risk.
Nah, the plan was to buy BTC straight from Luno. Hodl and pay back the loan until it's all settled, and have profit money left on Luno. But I decided against it, I'll stick to my personal philosophy to not use debt to speculate/invest. I'll use some of my savings.

In the gambling world , this is called "I have a system" , even when playing games of luck with the casino having odds stacked against you.

And as with gambling, it constantly needs to be fed. So, loss of early spectacular gains , cause the most conservative of people to turn to a certain version of insanity. And plough in more until they have a net loss far exceeding what they put in.

Tell that to the winners after every market crash. 2008 being the most recent example.

The people that loaded up on cheap assets after the bust made a killing these past nine years.

eish i hope the UK fellas are feeling abit better this morning...

Yes, my forum time is same as bitfinex time for screenshot... as said in original, check your time vs chart time... ie. you were looking too late

or, to make it easier your you, switch you bitfinex to utc+2 to match forum time, but my screenshot of it is in utc, ie 2hours difference
