Much better than Mercede's new trend of putting fake exhausts to their C Class range.
Next time you drive behind one, have a look. I find it quite despicable, especially from a brand such as Mercedes. The small tailpipe is under the car, hidden away.

Why? Doesn't the Golf R have the same quad exhaust profile?
Must say it's a damn sexy beast. Although I would have to test drive one to say if I would have paid R200k extra over the M235i to have one.

Maybe because it's one of the most anticipated models from the M division this year and it's still pretty darn fresh. The fact that someone didn't take all that long to prang it
No word yet from local Bmw dealers as to delivery of prespecced cars to clients. Anyone here getting a prespecced m2? In other words one of the first batch?

For the 2nd point I believe Daytona CEO Justin collected his M2 last week
Apparently M2 is as fast as the M4.Aha...I forgot you had the M4. M2 would be a "downgrade" lol
But yeah still prefer looks on the M4 .
But pure driving pleasure they say M2 is way more fun .
What's your guys take on manual or DCT for the M2 ?

Justin has an e92 M3 before it even launched... After all he does own sandton auto so figure he'd get one alreadyNail on the head wrt the 1st point. Thought it would have been obvious to others

I dunno if I agree...the performance gap between the M2 & M4 will not be great but the M4 should still be faster in all relevant tests.

Straight line, M4 is much quicker than M2 especially on 1/4 mile, 1km sprint and in-gear acceleration. They are both theoretically limited at 250kph. M4 limiter can be raised to 280kph while M2 can be raised to 270kph.
Around a challenging track, M2 is quicker.
The reviews I watched shows that the DCT gearbox M2 is 0.2 seconds slower for 0 to 60mph time.
And around a track DCT M2 is faster .
According to EVO's review on the car.
Regardless fun factor is the big thing they're raving on about the M2 .
They say BMW has finally brought it's character back ....

M4 is on another performance level on a straight line. Assuming good traction, the best archived so far is.
BMW M4
0 - 100 kph 4.1 s
0 - 180 kph 10.5 s
0 - 200 kph 12.9 s
1/4 mile 12.0 s @ 119.3 mph
BMW M2
0 - 100 kph 4.3 s
0 - 180 kph 12.7 s
0 - 200 kph 15.7 s
1/4 mile 12.7 s @ 113.0 mph

Make no doubt m4 is much quicker. But again speed ain't everything and the experience you get is more important

I fell in the "purist" trap. Bought a Boxster S manual (3.4l). Really a great experience when there is no traffic. But honestly, it was a mistake. You just can't drive it that much in JHB. Feel like a fool when stalling it on uphills
