As someone suggested, maybe it's time for this particular thread.

Ok, just purchased a BMW, as some might have seen. Something I did not mention, and perhaps worthy of kicking this thread off, is the SOS function. I've seen it advertised, but it still did not hit home to me until I was guided though it's functions when picking up my new vehicle.

You are in an accident, or observe an accident (or are hijacked), and are able to flick that switch. Or, you are in accident which results in your airbags being deployed. What happens is your GPS co-ordinates are immediately sent to a call-center in Europe (yes - Europe). They will phone you back - if no answer; they will immediately contact the nearest ambulances/fire engines based on your co-ordinates.

I went through a test with my salesperson before even driving my car off the floor - it was unbelievable (although he did preface it with saying this is not an emergency; just a test). What car is this - answered. Location - answered. The cars exact mileage - answered. And she had a cute voice :)

Subbed.

Aye, I also saw the ad on the TV a while back and thought... wow, this is an extra that actually deserves a special mention. Definitely something that has much use in this country, and something I would definitely put into a BMW if I should buy one in the future.

I'll pm you another feature, which I reckon is not for public consumption. As long as you agree not to share it publicly.

Basically never; seeing as you in Pretoria :). I'll take some pics, but it will not do justice to how it is understated and sophisticated at the same time. Understand this - I test drove the S3; Golf R and A45 AMG (and M135i) before I chose this car. To go all Sinead O'Connor - nothing compares (overall). Just my opinion - but as a bean counter, I tend to weigh up all options. The M235i just rules them all.

For all your psychoanalysis of my posts you said nothing about how it feels to drive it. Borrow from Clarkson if you must. Is it the best car to drive in the whole world?

Well, I'm imagining it being driven up your butt right now - with all 240kw's and 450nm's. So, in that respect, it is indeed the best car in the world. AND it has little wipers and washers on the headlights to sweep away any type of crap (oops - you would fall into that category). So yes. Jeremy and I would likely 69 each other based on this vehicle.
