The BMW X3 Thread

Job done, happer camper, just put the memory to active that was set on non active after they upgraded software.
That one i brought does open that Body Domain Control unit .
No need for the 3 x SS step it just went into diagnostic mode as soon as the bimmercode app connected.

Don't encourage please :), its perky enough for me and was only the ass not being able to be turned off & stay off annoying me.
I do recall speed reading over something about the trans that i'm interested to see what that was about tho, Be hard to see much improvement there as its like butter as is.

I’m more into the customising stuff , had a look at expert mode and was like “nope”

I sit around 12 so big differance

Found another useful bimmercode tweak, is it only me that's had the boot/trunk/tailgate open from the remote in pocket?

I would recommend increasing the delay of how long you need to hold the trunk button on the key fob so it helps prevent this. I sent it to like 5 seconds to prevent this. Default is like 0.5 seconds.

Boot lid opening delay
The delay when opening the boot lid with the remote control. This value can be increased to prevent accidental openings of the boot lid.

Values:
0.5 seconds
1 second
5 seconds
10 seconds
No delay

You will need to do this in BimmerCode.

Yup, and the closing as well, so you don’t have to hold the button until it’s closed,

I don't think BMW even knows half of these, i've asked them previously if they could deactivate that button on the remote for the opening in pocket reason & they told me no can do. I just got cautious with what i did with the remote till away from the vehicle in the end because of that happening.

You must wear very tight jean pants because thats never happened to me.

No live in cargos but have a bunch of other keys hanging off it that probably have something to do with it.

They gave me one of these when I bought a car a few years back, been using it ever since ( doesn’t look as fresh as the one in photo anymore )

Any of you guys see a recall notice pop up on your screens?

It seems to suggest they need to examine the car to work out if the fix is needed.

Nothing on mine, had one in November, but it went away, was told it was a accidental info push

Last recall was for the egr

Ah, might be motor or component specific.

agree'd , my g01 lci is by far the better looking x3 i've had, that said, my g20 520d was the most 'fun' car i've had

I had the pre-LCI and I liked the 'Cerium Grey' trim on the body and wheels, not sure why they dumped it, whereas the LCI has 'shadowlined' all those trim pieces.

The original car was also a lot more boisterous in character, a bit more raw and had better switchgear. The new one handles a bit sharper and has the 48v to fill out the torque hole off idle. Still, a great package whichever vintage you choose and doesn't suffer the too stiff suspension of the M model.

The latest car is a bit of a fat git taking all of the worst styling cues from the turd-like iX and cheapening a great interior.

The ix3 still checks all my boxes, basically my car, just electric,

Mrs is smiling because her fuel bill has gone from about R3500 a month to around R500 for electricity
