Just an aside: The Catholic Church isn't/wasn't ever corrupt - the corrupt Borgias never changed a single teaching. Our Lord never promised that His Church wouldn't ever have baddies, but He did guarantee that He would preserve it from ever teaching untruth. And it has never changed a single teaching in 2000 years. I became a Catholic not because Catholics are sinless, but because the Church herself has never faltered or failed in teaching what is true despite the corruption of her members, just as Our Lord guaranteed it would. The Borgias doesn't shake my faith in the least, though of course the baddies are scandalous, which puts the miracle of the indefectible Church into even sharper relief....Nonetheless, if you're not a staunch Catholic and can accept the fact that the catholic church is / was once corrupt, this is a good watch.

Agora was good too, did enjoy that too. There is also Joan the pope...Really good series that ends lamely. Its builds up for most of the season, then ends rather abruptly and with a lot of the story untold.
Its the story of one corrupt pope (in a line of many corrupt and evil popes) and a really honest look at the Church. You should watch this in tandem with Agora.
