I presume your preference is a Senate like you Aussies have?

The HoL has been around for at least 800 years and is just doing the job it's there for.
Chris is a monarchist...He probably loves idea of the house of lords. Just not when it disagrees with him

Proposed by Un-elected Theresa May.. Serious public anger means that she will get some sternly worded letters

You don't elect a PM in the UK. You elect your local MP. It's not like SA where you give the vote to a party - you give it to your constituency MP.

No it's not. It's trying to fudge the result of a democratic referendum. There was no discussion (or at least very little) of 'soft' and 'hard' Brexit prior to the referendum result. It only came about because the Remoaners lost and are now trying by stealth to ensure the UK does not really exit the EU.

Spot on. Especially this bit:

So when a voice of experience or authority dares point out the possible dangers ahead, they are either sacked, as was the fate of Michael Heseltine, attacked personally, like John Major, or else branded an “enemy of the people” who refuses to bow to the “popular will”.

Those with concerns are accused of “talking down the country” or lacking sufficient faith – as if, should Brexit make us poorer, the fault will belong to those who didn’t screw their eyes tight enough and believe. Credit to Jonn Elledge for calling this what it is: the Tinkerbell delusion.

After Brexit ...time to Abolish the House of Lords for subverting the will of the British People.

The referendum was a simple in/out question. How everyone suddenly knows exactly what "the will of the British people is" is ridiculous. There was no talk of breaking up the union, leaving the single market, losing Gibraltar, destroying the economy etc by the leave side, so how anyone can say for sure that's what they want from this referendum is nuts.

The will of the people was for £350 mill extra to come to the NHS. It was highlighted on the marketing material including the fecking campaign bus. They are ignoring that will at the moment. Brexit will likely cause the opposite

Looking forward to Brexit, it's going to be epic (to watch a country implode).

How's the currency doing, lol.
Stable since we voted out, actually, and it's no longer over-inflated for a change - what we see is what it's actually worth.

Edit: Merkel's EU, on the other, is on course for disaster at the current rate.
