Sounds fair estimate, what is 50 years to be honest? Universe is 13.8 billion years old, stuff goes on. No downsides to brexit at all. If it wasn't for corona, EU would be begging UK to come back - blowJO probably.Up to 50 years according to one prominent brexiteer.

I think he will be suited to the role. After all, "how to break the rules whilst acting like you're enforcing them" is pretty much an African leader MO . Dunno how much respect he will get though. Getting caught is very amateurishWell, now he's the United Nations’ special representative for Africa... Nice work if you can get it.
No thanks. We noticed the sterling "work" that warmonger Blair did as Middle East envoy. That appointment was just taking the pissIf it keeps him away from UK affairs it’s a good thing.
Couldn’t they find additional positions for another 20 or so people?

I approve of this contract. It could even be improved by headquartering this new UN task force in Africa, maybe somewhere like Malawi? BoJo and his cohort would fit right in, I think.

Is that the rule that is not allowing him to work for UN, that he is still a UK MP?It reads as if they expected him to take his snout out of the trough and resign as an MP. That would never happen.
Is that the rule that is not allowing him to work for UN, that he is still a UK MP?
The UN has now told him the appointment "is not being taken forward".
Mr Hancock said he had been "honoured to be approached by the UN" but it later wrote to him to explain that UN rule "has subsequently come to light".
He added: "Since I am committed to continuing to serve as MP for West Suffolk, this means I cannot take up the position.
One job isn't enough? Is that the rule that is not allowing him to work for UN, that he is still a UK MP?

The problem for the commission is that there has been little sign of any shift in business towards EU financial capitals since the UK’s exit from the single market at the start of the year. London’s LCH still handles about 90 per cent of all euro-denominated derivatives, according to data provider Osttra.

McGuinness acknowledged the lack of movement, saying it was not a surprise because “there is no incentive, there is no bonus for them to do anything. They may only be looking at the cost.”
Unpaid role, maybe he didn't score in PPE deals/One job isn't enough?
On Tuesday, the former health secretary tweeted a copy of the letter from UN Under-Secretary General Vera Songwe offering him the unpaid role.
I wonder what this unpaid role would actually involve. I can understand why there might be a rule that one is not allowing to to work for UN, or anyone else for that matter, if one is a UK MP. Being an MP is surely a full time job and presumably, if you take another job, unpaid or not, it's taking time away from the job you're actually being paid to do. I don't know, my job, I never seem to have enough time to do what needs to be done, I can't imagine taking on more responsibility. I would think being an MP gives you more than enough to do, without taking on other work.Unpaid role, maybe he didn't score in PPE deals/

I'm not sure what you're expecting exactly?Another crappy deal similar to the Australia deal (actually almost identical). I’m sure the UK farmers that voted for Brexit are really happy with the way things are going…
