Britain would be hit with shortages of medicine, fuel and food within a fortnight if the UK tries to leave the European Union without a deal, according to a Doomsday Brexit scenario drawn up by senior civil servants for David Davis.

Whitehall has begun contingency planning for the port of Dover to collapse “on day one” if Britain crashes out of the EU, leading to critical shortages of supplies.

Last month officials in Davis’s Brexit department and the departments of health and transport drew up scenarios for a no-deal Brexit — a mild one, a severe one and one dubbed “Armageddon”.

A source said: “In the second scenario, not even the worst, the port of Dover will collapse on day one.

Our favorite Brexiters are very quiet since a few months...

Who would have thought that the industrial production would be affected by Brexit? It was really an inconceivable idea!

Self determination lobbied for with lies? 350 million a week for the NHS, no impact on exports and less migrants?
The lies were plentiful on both sides, the more rational people, and I was appealing to those people during the actual referendum etc ... those people realize the impact cannot actually be measured anyway.

The only guarantee is that their future will be in their hands more so than before, still going to take hard work to make it a success.

How's the forecasted economic depression going by the way? :crylaugh:

Anyway big day on the 12th of June when the Exiting the European Bill returns to the HoC after having been amended by the unelected and unaccountable (remind you of another institution? ;)) House of Lords 15 times. Tories rebels should be reminded that they stood on the 2017 manifesto to exit the Customs Union and the SM. Anything else is a sell out and will have serious reprecussions at the ballot box. Only reason Tories are making inroads in places they haven't traditionally been competitive is due to many ex Labour and UKIP voters lending them their vote to see Brexit through as no one can seriously trust that anti-British Communist on the other side of the aisle.

If only there was a proper Brexiteer as PM and not someone who has, at best, made a half-hearted attempt to market the great opportunities of Brexit from an independent trade policy to immigration, the possibilities are endless! And no more can British politicians blame Brussels for needless and stupid regulations!

Nobody with a brain for enterprise and respect for self-determination

TIL that the UK does not have self determination as part of the EU...
TIL that in spite of the UK having veto powers within the EU and the fact that it has used it multiple times, somehow this translates to a diminished level of self-determination.
TIL the fact that the UK has its own currency separate to the Euro is an indication of its lack of self determination.
TIL the when the UK leaves the EU, in order to gain some semblance of a trade deal it will have to abide by EU legislation, without having any input or voting authority on that legislation and that somehow translates to the UK having more self-determination.

I see Nigel farage is back tracking somewhat saying he never said that it would be beneficial for the UK to leave the EU.

Reality is hitting the UK very hard.

Companies are planning to move to the EU. Its going fantastic!

You actually believe such nonsense shows how gullible you are, really. Oh my word, how do nations exist outside the EU? Just more pro-Remain fear mongering from the pro-Remain civil service. The referendum was nearly two years ago, this seems to be a bit late.

Serious news article vs your opinion.

I’ll take the news article, thanks.

Of caurse it is beneficial to the UK. They are getting freedom and more self-determination. You can't even measures that in monetary value. There is nothing greater that being free of the bureaucrats in Brussels.

Lol it ridiculous that the remoaners are still complaining, just because they don't understand the politics. Obviously the EU won't offer up a good deal before the UK exits otherwise more will jump ship. The EU bureaucracy is simply trying to hold on to power at this point they don't give a shît about negotiating a good deal for their own people that's mutually beneficial.

Not only the EU bureaucracy, don’t worry.

There’s a consensus from the EU governments and population that the UK should get the flak for (I) slowing down the European construction for decades and (II) leaving while wanting to retain its advantages.

They can go beg to the US (who will take advantage of them.

The UK was part of the bureaucratic system in Brussles. They have the power to veto anything that is not within their interest. They have exercised that right numerous times.

Something they will lose once they exit the EU.

But, will now be subjected to the bureaucracy without any hope of influencing it. Yeah great deal that!

Not clued up on this, but this whole Brexit thing seems like a really stupid idea, like something you would expect from our 'politicians'.
