The £0.03 drop in the last month is suddenly front page news here in the UK (literally). Doesn't have the same effect when it climbs up again though, does it? Because good news doesn't sell.
Yes, it does. I can find plenty of articles on the pound increasing in value during 2019.

Again, I'm referring to the severity. The Pound goes up, sure, there's an article on page 6 somewhere. The Pound goes down, and it's front page news, and we're all expected to believe that the island is sinking into the Atlantic, and a dragon attack on the capital is imminent.

TL;DR: it's really not that bad. It will continue to go down, and up, and down, and up.

You're acting like it's going up as much as down, but in reality it's tanking spectacularly, and the cause is 100% certain.

When it's at a 2 year high, I'm sure we will hear about it.

It's at a 2 year low. If it goes any lower, it will be at an all time low. The only time it was close was in 2008. And you're saying this shouldn't be news?

It should make news. The Pound will fall, it's been a given from the start. Everyone unless you're a moron knew the pound will suffer losses. Record losses even. But it's about turning it around again after Brexit. There is where my interest is. Anyone who thought the Sterling would go through un-phased irrespective deal or no Deal is a complete and utter moron.

I'm curious, why do you care so much for Brexit? Do you have a UK passport? Do you plan on moving there?

Reminds me of the comment from a US General during the Vietnam War.

It became necessary to destroy the town to save it.

£1 = €1.09. Ouch.

When I was there in July , some shops advertised as 1 pound = 1 Euro if you shop at them. That was in northern ireland.
Was 1 or 2 clothing stores that had that advertised.

Not sure if the deal was for cash only or card swipes also lol

I dont remember very many Brexiteers being honest about it like that, it was mainly all just rainbows and flowers. Now that its happened only a moron thought otherwise, well you've basically called most brexiteers morons.

Any disruption would have an effect on a nations' currency. Zuma sneezed and the Rand tanked. You can play clutching straws all day by yourself if you want. The Pound taking a knock was a given, irrespective the outcome

It's a fscking nightmare. My wife's life savings are in £.

That's your opinion though.

Any long term investment should be hedged. That being said, every currency has a "true" value. It will fluctuate and at times even crash. It does however retain it's true value to a degree. Unless the UK becomes Zim3 (SA has reserved Zim2) he will have nothing to worry about long term.

Yip, and the Rand's true value is R6:$1.

That's BS. That 20% loss is unlikely to be recovered anytime soon. I also don't touch my wife's money at all. Especially at the ISA earnings that you make in the UK

Mine is in different countries, only £2k in UK at the moment

Clutching at what straws? Are you just throwing in random terminologies? I dont remember any prominent brexiteers telling us how the pound is going to tank.
