My brother pays maintenance in £ to his ex and kids who live in SA. They literally lost thousands of rands a month after Brexit.

But imho this is more of a dip, if it continues to dip at pace over a longer period of time I'd then say it's tanking.

The weakening pound is what we expected, and trust me, its well worth it to curb immigration and not having to bow down and follow EU laws and regulations, especially when Britain is (soon to be was) one over the bigger contributors to the the EU.

It won't curb immigration though. It will decrease from the EU, and increase from India, Pakistan etc. In return, UK citizens have had their right to live in the EU stripped, which is a bit of a crap deal. Bojo & co do not care about immigration (although Farage does) - he's even announced amnesty for 500K+ illegal immigrants.

You sure about that, I’m taking a wild guess here... but after Brexit, the EU can take boats full of immigrants and asylum seekers and place them across the EU. All except Britain.

Britain always had an opt-out from taking refugees. They still took in ~26K of them as a goodwill gesture.

Well actually they're already making moves to make it easier for non-EU citizens to come to the UK. If there is serious economic damage of course people won't be coming, but if things go well financially after the exit they will. So there'll be plenty of people coming from India, Pakistan and so on. So even though Brexit was partly about racism it is likely to increase the influx of exactly the people they wanted to keep out.

All I saw was The Daily Mail on Saturday crying about how holidays in Europe are now more expensive as if it was some massive unexpected surprise. They got what they asked for.

When I was there last summer, the farmers were complaining that fruit was rotting in the fields because there was noone willing to do the back breaking picking of the fields.

A lot of the service levels at hotels and the like had dropped as well because a lot of the places were understaffed....and a lot of the Eastern Europeans hadn't pitched up for the seasonal work.

I guess you can't keep everyone happy

Back before countries like Poland joined the EU that sort of work used to be done by people from places like Australia and South Africa working illegally in the UK. Either those who came in on the 2 year student visa, can't recall what it was called back then, before you were allowed to work on that visa, or those who entered on a normal holiday visa. There were various low paid jobs that which were taken up by illegal workers because the locals had no interest in doing them.
