Damn I was hoping for an "upset" result with Labour winning so I could have a good laugh at Chris_the_pseudo_not_so_Brit...

But regardless of that, there is now a majority, Boris must step up and make good on his Brexit promises and move on. Enough with this cocking around and achieving nothing. Britain needs certainty more than anything else right now.

Lib Dems had far higher ambitions in terms of seat numbers though. They are basically stuck in the same place as they were in 2017.

As far as I'm aware Dominic Cummings is a Northerner....no wonder he is such an asset for the Tories. So true as well. No self-reflection since 2016 at all. Just the same cr@p over and over again, with parliamentary shenanigans being cheered by leftie Londoners on social media while enraging everyone else.

Boris Johnson's senior adviser said: "After the shock of the referendum MPs and journalists should have taken a deep breath and had a lot of self-reflection of why they misunderstood what was going on in the country but instead a lot of people just doubled down on their own ideas and f****d it up even more.

"That's why something like this happens against expectations.

"All these better than average educated Remainer campaigner types who have waved around for eight weeks, for the last four months and didn't understand what was going on and didn't understand they were driving everyone mad."

He added: "Hopefully now they'll learn because it's not good for the country, the whole dynamic to carry on.

"MPs need to reflect, the media needs to reflect and they need to realise that the conversations they have in London are a million miles away from reality."

I did like his speech this morning and if he manages to actually pull it off I will be happy. He seems to be taking a much 'softer' approach to things than the traditional conservative line. As he said, the conservative party itself has to change. I also suspect he'll go for a much softer brexit. I especially liked how he managed to completely distance himself from the years of austerity cuts as if he had nothing to do with it! He is a master at that. Hopefully that has now come to an end. I think many people voted for Boris, specifically, rather than the conservative party as a whole, so he is carrying a lot of responsibility now and for the next few years. I think the EU must be really happy with this outcome too.
 
Wow. Didn't think I I'd wake up to this outcome. At most, I expected a hung parliament, not such a vast majority.

Just had a quick peak at social media, and it's the day after Brexit all over again.

Nah, it shows that British people didn't want Jeremy Corbyn....

Beyond that, I think the British people have no idea what the fsck they actually want.

He holds ALL the cards now. No need to cater to anyone's needs. He doesn't have to be hard line to oppress opposing parties. He will get it done and do it right now.
