Howzit all, any decent dispensaries/clubs in the Somerset West area (strand and GB) of Cape Town. Down for the week and not in the mood to drive to CBD/sea point areas etc airports pretty chilled now a days with weed. Travelled with 10g bud in my carry on luggage and 5 rolled jays and nothing 😁.

A few years ago I went though the metal detector forgetting my lighter was in my box of cigarettes, which also had a joint and a small bankie inside.
Upon the beeping alarm, the airport employee opened it, inspected it and handed it back without so much as a blink of the eye.

Edit: thinking back now, it must even have been before it was legal since I stopped cigarettes 7 years ago.

How do you prove it though? Since you're making the statement you need to back that up when you are going through the process.

I'm not challenging you, I'm just interested how this situation is dealt with.

Personally I don't agree with work-place drug testing, but if the employee agreed to it in their employment agreement then fair enough. But to answer your question, I don't think that any legitimate doctor registered with the HPCSA would prescribe cannabis, especially not any form of cannabis with THC that would get you high.

The THC stuff is legitimately prescribed for pain and nausea or vomiting caused by cancer treatment amongst a few other medical uses.

All 30 should have at least done something even if it wasn't the expected result.
Are there any CBD suppliers that are certified or some kind of 3rd party independent certification?

This isn't too surprising to be honest, and for a few reasons.

The first is variation in body chemistry. CBD and THC react differently for everyone, but the differences are most noticeable when ingested. For example, 20mg of THC can cause some to completely green out while for others they can do 500mg and feel barely anything. Should also be noted that when taken orally, like in caps - our bodies only absorb, on average 15% of what's in the dose.

Personally, I've found that patients using CBD expecting noticeable differences in pain are often disappointed. Stripping out all the other cannabinoids and removing the terpenes is removing half of the medicinal properties. Full spectrum will almost always offer better pain resolution.

I strongly dislike the medical CBD industry, because it often suggests "Take these 20mg CBD caps and you'll feel better" and for some it works, but for others it does nothing. 20mg is a pretty small dose when one compares it to what's being used for severe health problems, like Parkinsons where dosing can be 500mg a day.

I'm a little surprised you didn't feel anything (would expect some sleepiness, but that's not always the case).

I also have my skepticism around a lot of CBD being sold. Being in this industry, I'd be lying if I said there were some less that trustworthy individuals managing to get themselves into positions of power by getting their brands into stores (not suggesting that's the case with this brand, as I don't know their business).

But I think all these companies should have mandatory Mass Spec tests done to show the cannabinoids are inline with their claims. Most are sourcing their CBD from the same suppliers though, and then just repacking.
 
Without scanning through this thread, have noticed a lot of shops opening up in Pretoria recently. Never been in one but what is deal now in regards to legislation. How are these guys allowed to operate?

Most of them sell legal CBD. Don't know how they make money with so many shops selling it. Even Clicks and Dischem. Easier online. Don't see these CBD shops lasting very long. Too much competition now.

Can't speak for pretoria specifically but it seems like law enforcement are running things in most areas. Some shops are allowed to openly display bud on shelves in malls or near police stations while some are regularly raided . Since the decriminalisation I've heard a lot of stories about people smoking in public and being extorted by saps. It's of my opinion that the laws are purposely not being defined to keep it in the legal grey area to allow for corruption.
