Herein lies the problem.
The internet in south africa is seen as elitist as it is connected via copper (Cities and BIG Towns Only) or via ridiculously expensive Wireless carriers when compared to South African ADSL - Compare 3G or Iburst to ADSL on Price.
Until the outlying communities see the internet as theirs as well (as Opposed to the priveliged few, only in Cities and BIG Towns) then you will not get the rank and file joining in. Try and get COSATO or the NGO's that operate in the rural areas to participate and see what you will get.
However if you include all broadband then you will get the above (Sell the Bandwidth benefits to Schools, NGO's Cosato etc) , and then think of the pressure that can be brought to bear. Remember, that the internet is not the communication medium in the rural areas, SMS messages are. The Secret of SMS is that it is cheap, mobile and not seen as elitist. Broadband, and the Internet must be pushed to be as ubiquitous as SMS's with an Internationally normed price, and not the domain of the gamers - What happened to the social and educational benefits of the Net that was preached in the mid nineties.
How can a small organisation like the TAC create so much pressure that the minister of health gets sidelined by the cabinet on AIDS Issues. MyBroadband (Not MyAdsl) should try and emulate the TAC. Now there's a challenge.
