Got these today and having a few tonight with my rum tasting...

That Soul Barrel Live culture really intrigued me:

A Pinotage Cape Wild Ale.
A farmhouse ale fermented in a oak barrel with wild yeast for 6 months.
After ageing is complete the beer is blended with citrus and sage fynbos and a huge dose of hops.
A secondary fermentation happens with Pinotage grapes added.

The live culture is a really good sour. I had it at the brewery and was really disappointed, I had one at home that I bought before visiting the brewery and we got pissed one night and I shared it with a bunch of mates thinking it was bad.. big mistake.. it really needs some bottle conditioning to come into it's own.

Enjoy you have a few good choices there.

So looking forward to my trip to soul barrel!

You guys have such cool breweries Cape side.

Going to use this trip to get many ideas for my future brews!

Is there coffee in here. I just smell coffee. Love.
There is a good chance there is no coffee in it. After brewing a few stouts now chocolate malt, black patent malt and roasted barley all add different types of coffee notes pretty spot on with no coffee added.

No coffee. I love Stouts. This has one of the most intense coffee notes that I've tasted.

Going to try try some when I'm down there of that too! Sooooo many great beers to try.

I didn't realize the cbc range was so big. It's just 4 in Gauteng

Well if you visit the tasting room at The Spice Route (Paarl) you are in for a treat. Plenty to do. CBC, Wine, Chocolate, Gin, biltong and good pizza.
