The Craft Beer Thread

I have an appointment with Christo tomorrow... He has 5 beers for me to taste... consume...

The difficult decision is... Should I go at 12 or 14?

Oh... And it is the Anvil Ale Brewpub

Had some great crafts in the UK last week. Doom Bar was the #1 and followed close by some from the local in Dorset. Punked IPA was *** :)

Not sure this qualifies and not crazy about the taste:

So far I would say I prefer Pilsner and then Lager.

There are some Pilsners with quite high bitterness, like Pilsner Urquell. But yeah the American style ales do dial up the bitterness quite a bit. That being said, a good India Pale Ale is really something quite special - try the Devil's Peak Blockhouse IPA.

If you're in Joburg you could try my beer which is a low-bitterness English ale, only available in Parkhurst.

If you find yourself out somerset west side be sure to pop in at trigger fish breweries. Great selection of beers on tap and really good food too.

Was there yesterday. They have a 9.9% stout called the black marlin. Huge beer with lots of molasses and brown sugar flavours. Certainly the beer you finish with because it kills everything else you have after. Also really enjoyed their imperial IPA the Titan.
