The Craft Beer Thread

Was that the former local grill & tap? Been there a while, what's with the relaunch?

I was there two weeks back. I believe it's now the Woodstock Grill and Tap. The tap room hadn't opened yet. The restaurant was great. Steaks were excellent.

Ah OK. That makes sense. I have been there before for a quick beer and the meat looked really good.

From the Washington Post, can't link article on my Kindle I'm afraid will see what I can do tomorrow

It was a startling announcement: As of Dec. 1, 2015, the Brewers Association had counted 4,144 breweries in the United States, the most ever operating simultaneously in the history of the country. According to historians, the previous high-water mark of 4,131 was set in 1873.

There were only 294 in 1990

Went out to the Garagista brewery today in Riebeek Kasteel. Very worth the drive, and there's another brewery opening up in the town soon.

Not impressed at all. Slight sour tinge, could be off?

Edit: couldn't finish it

I prefer the "Pride", in fact I'm having one now. Woodhill Tops stocks it for anyone behind the boerewors curtain...

Chocolate Stout, Pride and Laughing Croc are their best. The Lager, Honey Blonde and Pilsner tastes like water.

I liked drinking beer where it's made, so if all goes well Saturday afternoon will be Wildclover and Friday the 26th of Feb will be Woodmill market with Stellenbrau.

Certainly is first prize. Just can't beat beer on tap.
