The Craft Beer Thread

Hope you make it :). Copperlake are definitely one of my favorites right now...their dark lager is ace. Be sure to post some pics of that Chocolate Cream if you go...and please make it a scratch and sniff picture.

Got SO to buy into the idea, going tomorrow :D

Fransen Street cream ale, colour me impressed, nice creamy flavour, not overly bitter, well balanced, perhaps a little high on CO2 for an ale, but not a train smash

Beer infused with Beyerskloof Pinotage wine. Won't be getting it again :D

Where did you have this? I find it hard to come by and when I do find a place that has it they always out of stock.

Mitchell's Milk and Honey Ale: the sweetness cuts through the hops beautifully, can't get enough of this beer
Brewdog Libertine Black Ale: the most pretentious and annoying label I've ever seen and all I hate about the craft beer "scene" right now, BUT it was spectacular, a true great...
Innis & Gunn Original: another absolute gem, 77 days aged in oak barrels and the result is something so incredibly smooth it has to be tasted to be believed. There's no intense flavours in this one it's just really drinkable and delicious.
Gilroy's Favourite: There's just something about a Gilroy's I just love, my favourite of theirs.
Gilroy's Serious: Also a wonderful dark ale.

A wonderful evening of tasting, first time in a while I enjoyed everything I had.

Let's just say Liquor City Claremont did alright out of us for our brew day yesterday.

Ordered best to worst, left to right.
If you haven't tried a Kwak, you need to.

At the Belgian restaurant in Hermanus you need to hand over a shoe before they serve you a Kwak.

Same at Den Anker at the waterfront. Mainly due to the glass:

It's actually the first time I've seen it at a liquor store in SA. I had it Belgium a couple of years ago, and it was the best beer I'd ever tasted at the time. I was keen to see how it would hold up, now that I'm more "experienced". It definitely didn't disappoint.

Gentlemen, my beer is now available in bottles at Norman Goodfellows Illovo, Loco Liq Blairgowrie and Liquor City Groenkloof; and on tap at The Wolfpack Sandton and Craft in Parkhurst. I'd love to know what you think of it.

Castle Lite.... befok! try hom yskoud uit die tap. Beter as jaap se stront wat hy agter in sy yard maak
