The Craft Beer Thread

My weekend's drinking. *edit* can you tell I'm a bit of a Fuller's fan?

Tried some Duvel Tripel Hop. You need some caramel and fruitiness to balance the hop. I'll stick to good IPA for my hop fix.

The licence saga.

Triggerfishers, you may have noticed that we've been quiet. There's been rumours and there's been stuff happening and I've not really posted while trying to fully understand and make sense of our current situation.

We'll here it is:
At present, we can't legally sell beer to drink here but we are open and functioning.
We are 100% licensed to brew, sell bottles and do tastings

So why now?
Because some annonymous local license holder complained that we were doing more business than they were while our new on-consumption license has not been issued

Why was this possible?
- We got our on-con license in 2013
- With our 2014 renewal we were notified that it was withdrawn and we had to re-apply, no-one asked us to stop trading
- We filed the application and it got conditionally approved
- When we completed building (the last condition) we were stopped (because of above complaint)
- When we checked the conditional licensed we realised that it lapsed a month before

What now?
- We've re-submitted a new application and hope it will come through soon
- We continue to run the Taproom
- We're brewing more new exiting beers
- We're doing more wholesale
- We hope to sell more bottles for take-away

PLEASE SUPPORT US TO KEEP OUR STAFF EMPLOYED
- Have a free taster
- Buy a loaf of bread, it will help us pay Lucas and Ayanda
- Buy some Triggerfish beers to take home
- Come over for dinner, we're upping the ante on our menu and will keep you posted
- Come in for a coffee, I bet it's the best around, we're getting all our staff trained to brew the perfect cup
- Bring your own beer & wine, we'll supply ice to keep it cold
- You can have your regular laid back afternoons at Triggerfish
- Twist my arm and I'll give you a beer!!

If you're interested I'll share the whole 20 page Triggerfish story. Let me know in the comments.

If I was down that neck of the woods I would happily shoot through there to support them!

I was there a few days before they were shut down. Had an awesome evening and the beer on tap was amazing. Was told the story by the guys from Honingklip a few days later... Very unfortunate. Hope they get this resolved soon.

Sometimes the decisions by Triggerfish make no sense...

When Thirsty Scarecrow was opening, they refused to sell them their beers.

In October there's a Craft Beer Fest in Stellenbosch, but the only missing craft brewery is Triggerfish. #WTF

but yeah, not going all the way to CFM to go drink coffee when I can buy their beer within walking distance from my house.
