No picture but the Stellenbrau Jonkers Weiss has an uncanny banana-like flavor to it. Not real bananas - but the flavor of those banana shaped-sweets or banana milkshakes.

Quite common for a Weiss... Paulaner is also way to banana-like for my taste.

That flavour along with hints on bubblegum is completely acceptable in a hefeweizen.

The flavours come from esters produced by the yeast during fermentation.
 
Was at CC last night, stand out was the Standeaven Watermelon Lager, not very "beery" but in this heat it was lovely. Standard favourites Milk & Honey and Blockhouse went down a treat as well. Fokof Lager was bland and dissapointing

Something new. Odd but pleasant sour dough smell. Not your typical crisp pilsner, bit more malty. 4.2% could probably sink a few in the current Cape Town weather.
