According to the 2015 BJCP guidelines, the India Porter, as a style of "Foreign Extra Stout", has "moderate to moderately high carbonation". I've always noted that it has high carbonation, but I have to be honest that I've not tasted too many of them. I prefer them with a bit more foam as well, it helps the style along a lot, specially on the nosing and bringing the roasted notes forward.^ Not really ....
Carbonation is moderately-low to moderately-high for the style with 1.8 - 2.6 volumes of CO² (Americans like to push this higher)
If you actually go to Mad Giant they have a whisky barrel aged porter they only sell there. Frikken amazing stuff.
